Frank Marshall Will Direct Barbra Streisand’s Documentary
On Thursday, September 26, Sony Music Vision announced that filmmaker Frank Marshall will direct Barbra Streisand’s documentary series.
A press release from Sony Music Vision shared: “The project will offer an intimate and comprehensive exploration of every facet of the iconic multi-hyphenate, who, in a career spanning six decades, has excelled in every area of entertainment.”

Jigsaw Productions and The Kennedy/Marshall Company will be in charge of production, but they will also get help from Columbia Records. The producers include Alex Gibney, Frank Marshall, Aly Parker, Michele Farinola, Tom Mackay, and Jay Landers.
What Fans Can Expect From Barbra Streisand’s Documentary
Sony Music has stated that the upcoming documentary will include “unprecedented” interviews with Streisand, 82, and will feature “never-before-seen” videos, photos, audio, and personal keepsakes gathered throughout her career.
The archival materials will provide an in-depth look at Streisand’s star-studded past and her current endeavors. Barbra Streisand has expressed her excitement about sharing her vast archive of films, photos, and music masters, many of which have never been seen or heard by the public.
She said, “These films, photos, and music masters — many never seen or heard by the public — hold some of my most cherished memories.” The talented singer also expressed joy and satisfaction with those she will be working with to make the production successful.
She mentioned Alex Gibney and director Frank Marshall, and she also praised Tom Mackay, head of Sony Music’s Premium Content team, and Sony Music Chairman Rob Stringer for believing in the project.
