Adriana Lima is back on the runway after taking a six-year break, during which she could focus on things that truly matter, like family. Adriana Lima’s runway return is a great way to end September. Just ask fashion lovers and those who have missed seeing her famous cheekbones being showcased on the catwalk.
The Brazilian supermodel is now 43, but judging by the looks she served on Thursday, September 26, in Schiaparelli’s womenswear spring/summer 2025 show, she has been aging gracefully, and her time away did her a lot of good.
Adriana Lima’s Runway Return Happened at Paris Fashion Week
Lima broke her 6-year break from the runway when she appeared in Schiaparelli’s show at Paris Fashion Week. In a statement, she revealed that her comeback happening at Schiaparelli’s show was by design.
“After taking a year off to raise my children, it was so fun being back on the runway today,” Lima said of her return. “And coming back with my friends at Schiaparelli made it that more special!”

Adriana Lima’s runway look at Schiaparelli’s show included an 80s white striped dress with corset detailing and the brand’s signature oversized gold buttons. Oversized statement earrings and a classy top-handle bag complemented the look, and the model had her hair slicked back, giving her famous cheekbones a chance to shine again.
Ahead of the event, Lima was pictured in a sleek, sophisticated gray trouser and shirt paired with a matching coat. In addition to Lima, the Schiaparelli show also featured Victoria’s Secret “Angels” Kendall Jenner and Candice Swanepoel.
Jenner, 28, looked fabulous in a white corseted top with denim-like trousers, while Swanepoel, 38, stunned in a navy dress with hip details, a gold front zipper and a dramatic slit.
Adriana Lima’s Runway Return Comes After Her Move to LA
Lima moved from Miami to Los Angeles in 2023 to spend more time at home with her children. She is a proud mom of two teenage daughters, Valentina and Sienna, whom she shares with her ex-husband Marko Jarić.
In August 2022, she became a mother again with the arrival of her son, whom she shares with boyfriend Andre Lemmers. The gorgeous model also helps raise Lemmers’ two children from a prior relationship.
Now that her hiatus is over, Lima seems ready to take on the modeling world all over again. Reports claim that she is back to working with her long-term management company, The Society Management, which represented her at the height of her career.
What We Know About Adriana Lima’s Runway Accident
One of the most enduring scandals surrounding Adriana Lima was a 1998 runway accident when she was just 16. The model was on the runway as usual, strutting her stuff. She was dressed in a gold skirt, a tiny bralette, and a blazer of the same color.
The bralette was the problem. As she started her walk, it seemed like it was slipping, but when she struck a pose at the end of the walkway, it fell, completely exposing her bare chest, which she scrambled to shield as she turned away from the cameras.
Despite the mishap, she made the walk back up the runway in style, even though she had to hold on to her precious jewels all the way. While it happened long ago, videos from the accident are still circulating, and people still talk about it.
How Old Was Adriana Lima When She Walked Her First Runway?
Adriana Lima walked her first runway when she was 16 for designer Anna Sui’s Spring/Summer 1997 show at New York Fashion Week. Before that, she had been modeling for years, as she was discovered at age 13 while shopping at a mall. By 15, she was already winning competitions and the rest, they say, is history.
How Did Adriana Lima Lose Weight?
Adriana Lima works hard at maintaining her physique as a model, as do most other models. However, while she was with Victoria’s Secret and was walking the runway of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, a show that allegedly defines what the world perceives as the hottest–sexiest–most beautiful female form, she had to go the extra mile.
According to Lima, weeks before the show, she is put on a rigorous diet of almost no carbs or fat and works out for two hours daily. Depending on how intense her preparation is, those sessions with her personal trainer are increased or decreased.
She also saw a nutritionist, who measured her body’s muscle mass, fat ratio, and water retention levels before prescribing protein shakes, vitamins, and supplements to keep Lima’s energy levels up while she trained.

Lima also gulped down a gallon of water a day. Then, for nine days before the show, she drank only protein shakes—“no solids.” Two days before the show, she would abstain from the daily gallon of water and “drink normally.” Then, 12 hours before the show, she would stop drinking entirely.
“No liquids at all, so you dry out; sometimes you can lose up to eight pounds just from that,” she said.
