Naomi Campbell can no longer lead any charitable organization in England or Wales for the next five years because an investigation accused her of misusing funds within her charity.
Findings from the investigation were released on Thursday, September 26, by Britain’s Charity Commission. They claim that the supermodel, 54, “poorly governed” and had “inadequate financial management” of her Fashion for Relief organization.
Findings From the Investigation That Led to Naomi Campbell’s Charity Ban
Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief organization facilitated her charity scandal. The charity was established in January 2015 to raise funds for various environmental and humanitarian causes. According to the investigation, Campbell and others have used their organizational positions for personal gain.

“These costs included spa treatments, room service, and the purchase of cigarettes and hotel products,” the watchdog group’s published report stated. Campbell, who is named as a trustee in the report, is accused of not complying with the charity’s constitution — which includes “no formal meeting minutes [being] recorded.”
One highlighted case was a May 11 flight from London to Nice in 2018 that cost the charity €14,800. “The trustees confirmed that a then trustee and one major donor (unnamed) were boarded on the flight which had been booked for the purposes of transferring art and jewelry (in excess of €1.5m) to the charity’s fundraising event in Cannes,” the report stated.
The investigation also found that between April 2016 and July 2022, only 8.5% of the charity’s total expenditure went to charitable grants. Naomi Campbell’s charity Fashion for Relief is now no more because it was dissolved in March 2024.
Damage Control for Naomi Campbell’s Charity Ban
Campbell responded to the ban on her charity during an interview with the Associated Press after being named a knight in France’s Order of Arts and Letters at the country’s culture ministry for her contribution to French culture.
In her statement, she denied any wrongdoing but stated that she was “extremely concerned” about the accusations cited in the report.
“I was not in control of my charity. I put the control in the hands of a legal employer,” she said. “We are investigating to find out what and how, and everything I do and every penny I ever raised goes to charity.”
Campbell has also tagged the results of the investigation “deeply flawed” while her investigators look into what happened.
