Everyone thought Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s second attempt at love would be the last time she worried about romance, but life apparently had other plans.
The pair have parted ways again, this time perhaps for good. They were previously engaged between 2002 and 2004 and got married in 2022 before their latest split. Keep reading to learn about Jennifer Lopez’s spouses before her second trial with Ben Affleck.
Ojani Noa
The first man Jennifer Lopez married was Ojani Noa, a man she met while he was waiting tables at a Cuban restaurant in Miami. They tied the knot in 1997, but the union only lasted 11 months, ending in January 1998.
At first, they seemed to get along. Lopez hired Noa to manage a Cuban restaurant like hers in Los Angeles in 2002 for $1,000 a week. She dismissed him six months later, and Noa reportedly sued her for breach of contract.

The lawsuit ended in a settlement that banned Noa from publicly disparaging or revealing intimate details about Lopez for monetary gain. Years of conflict and legal back-and-forth followed as Noa tried to find ways to profit from his history with the singer.
Sean “Diddy” Combs
Jennifer Lopez started dating Sean Combs in 1999, around the same time she released her debut album, “On the 6.” The pair became one of Hollywood’s biggest power couples, but it lasted only two years before they broke up.
During an old interview, Lopez reflected on the relationship and hinted that infidelity had something to do with the split.
“It was the first time I was with someone who wasn’t faithful,” she said. “I was in this relationship with Puff where I was totally crying, crazy, and going nuts.” She added, “It really took my whole life in a tailspin … I never caught him, but I just knew.”
Cris Judd
Judd was the second man Lopez married. The pair met on the set of her “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” music video, a project he directed. They got married in September 2001, and they filed for divorce nine months later. Lopez said her marriage to Judd fell through because they did not have what it took to make a marriage work.
Judd cited the difficulties of being connected to a high-profile individual as one of the reasons their relationship didn’t work out.
“You know, it’s very tough,” he said. “Your privacy is breached. You’re no longer a normal person. [Our wedding] was a circus. I think several people got arrested trying to climb up a mountain … trying to sneak in. We actually rented the airspace.”
The privacy issues were a hassle, but Judd admitted that they were not what ended the marriage. “It had no bearing on the outcome of a relationship,” he said. “Unfortunately, it just didn’t work out.”
Marc Anthony
Jennifer Lopez first met musician Marc Anthony while he was performing in Paul Simon’s 1998 Broadway musical “The Capeman.” In the years that followed, Lopez and Anthony stayed close friends, collaborating on music despite being in relationships with other people.
Months after ending her first engagement to Affleck, Lopez married Anthony secretly in June 2004. In 2008, the couple welcomed twins Max and Emme. They officially went their separate ways in 2011 but have remained close friends and collaborators.
Casper Smart
Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart, one of her backup dancers, started dating shortly after her split from Anthony in 2011. According to a source, her romance with Smart, who is 18 years her junior, was “a fun fling” and “not meant to turn into anything more.”
The two dated on-again, off-again before finally calling it quits in 2016. Initial reports claimed they split amicably, but an insider later revealed that he cheated and got caught.
Drake
Rumors that Lopez and Drake were dating started circulating after the rapper was spotted supporting her at her “All I Have” Las Vegas residency in December 2016. After the sighting, Instagram exploded with now-deleted cuddly posts, including a shot of Lopez lying across Drake’s lap and another of the two caught in an embrace at a party.
It led to rumors of them dating, but Lopez finally put the rumors to rest during a 2017 interview on The Daily Show, in which she categorically stated she was not with Drake. Drake also seemed to reference the end of their fling in a 2018 track titled “Diplomatic Immunity.” On it, he raps: “2010 was when I lost my halo / 2017 I lost a J.Lo.”
Alex Rodriguez
Lopez met MLB player Alex Rodriguez for the first time at a 2005 Yankees game in New York City, and according to her, there was a zing of electric current when they shook hands.
Still, it was not until ten years later that the two reconnected and started dating. They announced their engagement in 2019 but postponed their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
In April 2021, the couple announced their split but remained cordial, revealing plans to keep working together and supporting each other. They reportedly parted ways because of Lopez’s inability to trust Rodriguez after months of questioning things.

Current Status of Jennifer Lopez’s Relationship With Ben Affleck
Since her split from Rodriguez, the only other man Jennifer Lopez has been linked with is Ben Affleck. Unfortunately, their second attempt at love has also soured. In August 2024, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck, citing April 26, 2024, as the date of separation.
The news came after months of speculation over their marital status after it was reported the two were living under separate roofs and spending much of the summer apart. Reports now confirm the pair are no longer together.
