“I had been going through those times where you’re questioning, ‘Oh my gosh, am I just getting older? Am I cute?'” the musician told the outlet. “In my relationship, even though I know the truth of what’s happening today, you still create drama in your mind about your insecurities and what might happen.”
The “Hollaback Girl” singer opened up about her feelings of insecurity while working on her duet with Blake Shelton, “Purple Irises.” Even while creating something beautiful together, those doubts can still creep in.

She Talked About Being Paranoid in Her Relationship with Shelton
During the lengthy discussion, Gwen Stefani opened up about the phase in her relationship with Shelton when she started feeling a bit paranoid. Even though they’re both successful and in love, she said they still have insecurities.
Shelton mentioned how they have conversations about whether they’ll still love each other when they’re old or if they forget things. “I was in that phase of the relationship with Blake and getting paranoid,” Stefani said. “It’s an insecurity we both have,” Shelton added.
“These are conversations that she and I have with each other: ‘Are you still going to love me when I’m old or if I forget who I am?’”

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani met in 2014 while filming season 7 of “The Voice.” They got married in 2021 on Shelton’s ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Shelton and Stefani live on a ranch together in Oklahoma, but they’re there part-time. Stefani’s three kids from her previous marriage with Gavin Rossdale, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, live there too.
