Todd Chrisley may be a convict, but he is still a family man who is very much in love with his wife, Julie Chrisley. She has been marinating in a prison cell for some time now, and her hubby hoped no judge would uphold her initial 84-month prison sentence.
Unfortunately, a judge did just that last month in a resentencing hearing, and Todd is worried about his wife’s health and welfare, knowing she is headed back to jail.
How Todd Chrisley Feels About the Judge’s Decision
Jay Surgent, one of the couple’s attorneys, said Todd is “extremely disappointed” and “dissatisfied” with the judge’s September 25 ruling. Reports also claim Todd is “concerned about Julie’s health and welfare” following the resentencing setback. This is mainly because she suffered a “serious health problem” behind bars.

Julie has been serving a seven-year federal prison sentence since she and her husband, Todd, were convicted in 2022 for bank fraud and tax evasion. She was granted an appeal earlier this year, and a resentencing hearing took place in Atlanta, where the judge upheld Julie’s original conviction.
Details About Julie Chrisley’s Medical Situation
Earlier in March, Julie and Todd Chrisley’s daughter, Savannah Chrisley, shared some letters her mom wrote her from prison. In one of the letters, Julie mentioned a medical situation that saw a prison doctor inform her that she may have had a possible tumor.
“I walked in thinking it was Gynecology. I sat down with the doctor, and she proceeds to tell me that my HCG level was high — 10.2. This is a pregnancy hormone. It should not be that high. If it were a little higher, I would test positive on a pregnancy test. Since that’s not a possibility, it could be a sign of a tumor,” Julie wrote in the letter.
She also wrote about her response to the news, claiming she “fell apart.” She expressed disbelief that it was happening to her and stated her plans to keep it hush-hush until she was certain of what was happening. “I’m so scared. I just want my husband. I don’t know if I can do this without him,” Julie added.
Julie Expressed Remorse at the Resentencing Hearing
Julie Chrisley put on a very convincing performance at her resentencing hearing last month. With tears in her eyes, she told the court how sorry she was for her “actions and situations that led us to where we are today.”
She tried to appeal to sentiments by revealing how she has done all she can to get closer to her family.
She said, “I’ve taken tests for new skills, such as driving a forklift and serving food in proper ways… this has been the most difficult part of my life. I can’t ever repay my children for what they’ve had to go through, and for that, I am so sorry.”
Who Are the Chrisleys, and Why Are They Famous?
Todd and Julie Chrisley achieved fame through their reality TV show “Chrisley Knows Best.” The show aired on USA Network from 2014 to 2023 and focused on their family life and Todd Chrisley’s parenting style.
Todd Chrisley and his family gained further notoriety due to their run-ins with the law. In 2019, they were indicted on multiple counts of bank and wire fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy, which saw them convicted.
Besides the fraud and tax evasion allegations, Todd Chrisley also sparked public criticism when news about his alleged gay lover, Mark Braddock, became public.
Braddock, an American businessman, sales representative, realtor, media personality, and entrepreneur, testified in the fraud case against his former business partner and alleged lover, Todd, sending the media into a frenzy.

How Much Time Will the Chrisleys Actually Serve?
Todd Chrisley and his wife were initially sentenced in November 2022. Todd was ordered to serve 12 years in the Pensacola, Florida-based Federal Prison Camp, while Julie will serve seven years in the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
What Happened to Savannah Chrisley’s Parents?
Savannah Chrisley’s parents are currently serving time after a jury in June 2022 found them guilty of conspiring to defraud community banks in Atlanta out of more than $36 million in fraudulent loans, defraud the IRS, and commit tax evasion. The pair were sentenced on November 21, 2022. Peter Tarantino, their accountant, was also found guilty of tax fraud for filing false corporate tax returns on their behalf.
