Everyone hates cheating, but against death, it’s a different story. Michael Strahan’s daughter just cheated death, and her father, as well as the world, celebrates with her. Isabella Strahan revealed that she is cancer-free in her YouTube series, where she’s been sharing her health journey, with a video titled “Goodbye Hospital.”
It triggered a torrent of well wishes and congratulations from her fans, friends, and family members.
What Happened to Michael Strahan’s Daughter?
Isabella had emergency surgery in October 2023 to remove a large medulloblastoma, a cancerous and fast-growing brain tumor that develops in the cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls movement and coordination.
Anyone could have been defeated to just receive such news, but Isabella had support from family and friends. She chose to fight her illness, had surgery, and has been working hard on making a full recovery.
It has been months of chemotherapy, MRI scans, and unending doctor appointments. She’s endured six weeks of radiation, four rounds of chemotherapy, and three brain surgeries. Fortunately, she is finally free.
Is Michael Strahan’s Daughter Cancer-Free?
According to Isabella, she has beaten cancer. She shared the news on Thursday, July 18, via the update to her YouTube series. The series followed her health journey following the emergency surgery in October 2023.
Her latest vlog, titled “Goodbye Hospital,” captured the final motions she went through as she said farewell to the hospital and doctors who took care of her. In one scene, Isabella, still a student and also a model, was back at the Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center in Durham, N.C., where she had her chemotherapy port surgically removed.
Isabella talked about how much pain she was in the next day after the port in her neck and stomach was removed. She said, “My side hurts a lot. It feels like I got stabbed.” Another scene in the vlog captured Isabella just before she went in for an MRI and when she arrived at her last doctor’s appointment to review her scans.
She could not contain her happiness as she learned that she was now cancer-free eight months after her diagnosis. She called it “a great, great scan.” Then she said, “Everything was clear. Cancer-free, and everything is great. I don’t have another doctor’s appointment until October.”
Isabella also revealed in the vlog that she already misses her doctors and everyone who helped her. She said, “I feel like I’m just saddened today knowing that I wasn’t gonna be going back for a while because I love them so much. So, that was my last hospital vlog until October!”
How Isabella Celebrated the End of Her Cancer Treatment
Michael Strahan’s daughter ended her cancer treatment last month, and she celebrated it. She shared a vlog on June 16 that saw her ring the hospital bell surrounded by her family and friends. They all cheered her on with balloons, bubbles, and homemade posters.
Isabella smiled as she said, “Ring the bell three times well. It’s a toll to clearly say my treatment is done, this course is run, and I’m on my way!” Her father, Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan, was only too happy about the positive outcome. He took to Instagram to post a tribute to Isabella that expressed his pride in her.
He wrote, “@isabellastrahan you are a SUPERWOMAN! Ringing that bell, finishing chemo and on your way! You continue to fight with a smile on your face, strength, and determination. I am one proud Dad! Love you, Bella.”

Who Is Michael Strahan’s Daughter?
Michael Strahan has four children, three of whom are daughters. Isabella is one-half of the twins he welcomed with his ex-wife Jean Muggli, whom he met at a spa. Her twin sister is Sophia, and they are both following in their father’s footsteps in showbiz.
Michael’s other two kids are Tanita Strahan and Michael Anthony Strahan Jr. They are products of his marriage to Wanda Hutchins, which lasted from 1992 to 1996.
