Not all love stories end in bliss; some, like the one Bobbi Althoff shared with Cory Althof, were meant to be fleeting despite the best-laid plans. Bobbi and Cory were married for four years before he filed for divorce in February 2024. They tied the knot on January 31, 2020, and share two daughters, Isla and Luca.
After news of their split was announced, Bobbi took to Instagram with a lengthy message. In it, she wrote that she would always consider Cory a friend despite the end of their romantic relationship.
“While our relationship did not work out as husband and wife, we will always be friends, and I will always love him,” she captioned a black-and-white photo of them smiling as she showed off her engagement ring.

Cory Althoff Is a Technology Nerd
Cory Althoff graduated from Clemson University with a degree in political science, but he has since pivoted to a career in technology. In 2023, he returned to the University of Southern California to pursue a master’s in business administration and management. According to his LinkedIn, he will graduate in 2025 and is known to post photos with his cohort regularly.
“I had such a great time studying communication and strategy this week as part of the MBA program i’m doing at USC Marshall,” one of his posts reads. “I learned so much, and I can’t wait to start applying it to my role at CompTIA.”
After Cory decided to pursue a career in technology, he taught himself to code. He bagged his first job as a software engineer at eBay in 2014 before working for a startup, Thuuz Sports. Then, he took a break from the tech world to focus on writing books.
“I wanted to try creating my own product, do something on my own, instead of working for a company,” Cory said in November 2017. Cory is currently the senior vice president of software development programs at CompTIA, a position he assumed in February 2023.
Cory Althoff Has Published a Couple of Books, Too
Cory’s unique foray into the tech world inspired him to write his first book, “The Self-Taught Programmer,” in 2017 to help others on a similar path. He wrote the book mainly to make the knowledge it contained accessible so that a newbie to the industry could easily understand it.
“It was like solving a puzzle,” he said. “I was trying to create a book you could follow with zero knowledge.” Cory published the book himself, spending over $10,000 of his own money to market and publish it on Amazon.
But since then, he has gotten traditional contracts from publishing companies in five countries, and as of March 2021, the book has sold over 100,000 copies in seven different languages. In 2021, he released another book, “The Self-Taught Computer Scientist,” in an effort to write something on the subject that “anyone can read.”
“Whether you are preparing for a technical interview or want to become a better programmer, I’ve done my best to present the fundamental computer science concepts you need to have a successful programming career in a way anyone can understand,” he wrote while promoting the book on Instagram in 2021.
He Welcomed Two Kids With Bobbi Althoff
Bobbi Althoff and Cory Althoff welcomed two daughters before their split. Their first child, Luca, was born in 2020, and their second, Isla, arrived in June 2022. However, the now-divorced couple is very private with their kids. Before her TikTok was refurbished to promote her podcast interviews, Bobbi mainly posted content about motherhood and its struggles.
However, after she went viral, she deleted all the videos involving her daughters, explaining in August 2023 that she didn’t want them to be recognized in public.
“I’m so happy I [deleted the videos], especially since I made that decision before [the podcast] because I don’t want them to have the digital footprint that I’ve created,” she said. “Now, when they go public and they’re not with me, I don’t have to worry, so that’s good.”
Why Did Cory Althoff File for Divorce?
Cory Althoff filed for divorce from Bobbi Althoff in February 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences” and listing their date of separation as July 4, 2023. He also checked off a box to block the court from awarding spousal support to either party.
Bobbi addressed the news on Instagram, stating that despite their split, she would always have a soft spot for him and consider him a friend. “As most of you have heard, Cory and I have filed for divorce,” she wrote in the caption.
“As sad as I am right now, I am so thankful for the time I got to be his wife. Our girls are so lucky to have him as a father & I am so lucky to be able to co-parent with such an incredible father and person.”
Cory and Bobbi finalized their divorce in August 2024. They agreed to joint legal custody of their daughters, and neither will they pay spousal support or child support.
