Love is a beautiful thing, but it does not always last forever. Just ask Leah Remini, who recently parted ways with the man she had married for over twenty years.
Remini and her former spouse, Angelo Pagan, announced their separation via a long post on Instagram on August 29. In it, they revealed how much thought went into making the decision and the reason behind their divorce.
While their marriage was one of the most coveted in Hollywood, it sadly came crashing down. However, unlike many celebrity divorces, the two kept things cool and settled their divorce early enough, giving each other space to heal their broken hearts.

Not anymore. Leah Remini and Angelo Pagan’s divorce was uncontested and finalized on October 11 after they agreed on the terms in mediation outside of court. The stipulation was made confidential after a judge signed a written agreement provided to the court.

Remini and Pagan separated on August 1, 2024, and officially filed for divorce later that month. They revealed their decision to go their separate ways in a lengthy joint Instagram post on August 29.
What Happened to Leah Remini and Her Husband?
The couple’s divorce statement began with them pointing out that their divorce comes after 28 years together, 21 of which saw them married. “This decision came after a lot of thought and care,” they added. “And as hard as divorce is, we are approaching this with a positive outlook because we know it’s what’s best for us. We are proud of how we have worked through this together.”
The pair implied that despite the divorce, they are still “best friends” who celebrate holidays together and gather as a family. As for why they parted ways, their statement explained that they “both changed” and were not the right fit for one another anymore.
“After a lot of effort and consideration, we’ve decided to take this step, which reflects who we are today,” they wrote. “Our bond is still strong—it’s just evolved into something different. We think a marriage that lasted this long and created so many beautiful memories, especially raising our incredible daughter, is something to celebrate.”
As far as they are concerned, the marriage “was a huge success.” And now, they look forward to “creating more cherished moments—just in a different way.”

Who Is Leah Remini’s Ex-Husband?
Angelo Pagán is an actor, singer, and restaurateur. He and Leah Remini first met in 1996 when he performed at El Floridita, a Cuban club and restaurant in Los Angeles. After they met, he began appearing alongside her in several of her projects, including “The King of Queens,” “Fired Up,” “Kevin Can Wait” and “In the Motherhood.”
He’s also made guest appearances on other popular shows, including “Martial Law,” “Dharma & Greg” and “Shameless.” Pagán proposed at an L.A. restaurant on Christmas Eve in 2002.
Their wedding occurred at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas on July 19, 2003. During the course of their marriage, Leah Remini and Angelo Pagán have one daughter together, and Pagán also has three sons from a previous relationship.
