The conversation of whether dating an ex’s friend is morally correct or not has been asked for decades and Jax Taylor has just given his own opinion. The “Valley” star was not very happy to find out that his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, had decided to move on with someone within his friend group.
Taylor revealed how he initially found out about the fling days after Cartwright confirmed it happened amid their ongoing divorce. “We were sitting in my house, and her phone was on the coffee table,” Taylor revealed during the November 14 episode of Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast.
“And a message popped up, and I looked at it, and it was a simple message from Julian. But it was at night, and it was just a very weird message, and I called her on it.” Jax Taylor admitted that he “got it out of her an hour into the conversation.” “She finally broke and told me,” he said. Her admission reportedly left him in “shock” because they had agreed not to date within their friend group.

“I don’t think I would have been bothered by it if it was somebody else that I didn’t know,” Taylor added. “There was a whole five or six months where I wasn’t seeing anybody, but this was going on.”
There Was Even More Bombshell Revelation From Jax Taylor
What Jax Taylor was saying was news to fans of the couple but he had even more shocking gist. Taylor claimed he and Brittany Cartwright were intimate as recently as July. However that was reportedly because he had no idea she was sexting Julian.
“Then she was upstairs cleaning, and I just saw she was still talking to Julian and sending him pictures, like naked pictures, and pictures of my son,” he told host Alex Baskin. It was enough to make him see “red” and go “crazy,” helping him walk a mile in her shoes.
The 45-year-old has a history of cheating and he said the experience gave him “a taste of my own medicine.” “I want her to meet somebody,” he concluded, “just not somebody I know.”
How Brittany Cartwright Felt About Jax Taylor’s Revelations
The same day Jax Taylor dropped his bombshell revelations, Cartwright told Bravo’s Hot Mic they did not have a “no dating in the friend group policy.”
“We never spoke about that because why would we?” Cartwright said. “First off, I didn’t think I was going to hook up with his friend. It wasn’t planned. I wasn’t trying to go after one of his friends. That’s not how it happened.”
She is not apologizing that it is Julian she moved on with either. “It was somebody that I felt like I knew and in our world,” she said. “It’s so crazy because, like, how do you trust people? And I was single for the first time in L.A.”
When Did Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright Relationship End?
Brittany Cartwright first discussed her and Jax Taylor’s marital issues during an episode of the duo’s podcast When Reality Hits. “I will say—marriage is hard and people go through ups and downs all the time and it’s completely normal,” she begins before adding, “Sometimes people might need their space [and] sometimes they won’t.”
The following week, she confessed that she had moved out of her and Jax Taylor’s home. “Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health,” she said.
“I don’t know what the future holds but right now my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz. I love you guys and pray for us. Everything will be just fine.” The same day, Jax Taylor claims “separation is not divorce” and even alleged that Cartwright was back to living with him.
What Caused the Split Between Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright?
Rumors pointed to cheating as the sole reason that caused Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s breakup. However, Cartwright once claimed that it was a lack of sex that tore them apart.
“We’ve been together nine years, and people stop appreciating and take you for granted after some time—and that should never happen in a marriage,” she said at The Valley premiere party held at the former couple’s bar, Jax’s Studio City in Los Angeles. “And if [intimacy] doesn’t come back, then we won’t get back together.”

She also said that she’d asked Taylor to do “four little things,” including go to therapy, which he had not done. There is also the fact that they could not agree on whether they wanted to have a second child.

Jax Taylor is currently single if the statement he shared on X on May 30, 2024 still stands. The “Valley’ star sparked relationship rumors when he was spotted out with model Paige Woolen but neither of them have come forward to confirm they have something going on between them.
