Netflix’s new superhero series “Supacell” ended its first season on a cliffhanger that has most viewers itching to know how the events of the last episode will affect the main characters.
“Supacell” delivers a fresh and authentic superhero story, shouldered by a diverse cast with unique power origins. The world of heroics is undoubtedly highly saturated. However, this series stands out, offering characters with enticing stories that have snagged the attention of many in just six episodes.
More About The Series
A few things make “Supacell” a top-tier series. One is the storytelling and character development. The series also has a strong foundation, and the “Supacell” cast is talented. The first and only available season contains only six episodes, each about an hour long.
It is a short entry, but it is long enough to help viewers familiarize themselves with the characters’ stories and the mystery surrounding their abilities. The first season has done a great job of building anticipation for more of the series. Netflix has struggled for years to maintain a superhero show, but change may be on the horizon with Supacell’s warm welcome.

The series takes many risks, but they have all paid off because of the talented “Supacell” cast and the narrative’s strength. The series gives fans an inside look at the characters’ lives while actually presenting nuanced emotions and thoughtfulness.
At every point in the first season, the focus on the characters never wavered, and in just six episodes, the brains behind it were able to fully introduce a layered character cast with relatable problems.
Supacell Ending Explained
The series follows a story set in South London, where five individuals (played by Tosin Cole, Nadine Mills, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Calvin Demba, and Josh Tedeku, respectively) start manifesting mysterious powers.
The only similarity between them is that they are all black, and the story sees them reacting to their newfound gifts in very different ways. The story slowly reveals how and why the characters got powers, which makes for a unique and interesting take on the popular genre.
The last episode, which has so many people hoping fervently for a second season, saw Michael(Tosin Cole), who worked hard to bring other characters experiencing power awakening together, lose his lover.
It was an eventuality his future self showed him and told him to try to stop. However in his attempt to avoid it from happening, he set in motion events that led to the precise outcome. For now, fans can only speculate on how it will affect him and, subsequently, the rest of the group. But anticipation is off the charts.
It never peaked at #1 on Netflix in the US; however, it was #2 for quite some time and has remained on the top 10 list for several weeks. It has also retained its perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and has a decent 80% audience score.
What Is “Supacell” Season 2 Release Date?
There is no confirmed date for the release of the second season of “Supacell.” However, showrunner Rapman said in an interview with Radio Times that he plans to have at least three full seasons of the show, including the first, depending on where he wants the story to go.

He said, “I’ve got a three-season story in my head. [I’m] not saying it can’t go over. But right now, I know where it goes. I know where… what the story is from up to season 3.” There is no book or comic to use as a source, so Rapman would be creating everything from scratch.
This is not ideal for a long-term plan. Still, if he pitches a three-year plan with a fixed ending, Netflix may be confident enough to invest in the show and ensure the story of the superheroes is played out and not left on a season 1 cliffhanger like so many other dead series.
With fans anticipating a second season and the praises showered on the series, Netflix seems to be on to something with this. Also, viewers agree that the show is a hit!
