Caitlin Clark is thanking her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, for his support as she continues to make headway in her career. After the Indiana Fever player won the WNBA Rookie of the Year award, she reflected on her first professional season with gratitude directed at her boyfriend.
Clark and McCaffery, a fellow basketball player and former Hawkeye himself, have been dating since April 2023. However, they kept news of their relationship under wraps until four months later when they went Instagram official.
Caitlin Clark’s Sweet Tribute to Her Boyfriend
Caitlin Clark shared the sweet tribute dedicated to her boyfriend via her Instagram story on October 3. “Throwback to draft day,” Clark wrote alongside a photo of her and her beau hugging. “I’m lucky.”
McCaffery responded by resharing the heartwarming message and adding another post celebrating the player’s milestone to his Instagram Story. They have a lot to celebrate. This has been Clark’s first season in the WNBA, and it has been a great win.

Caitlin Clark Hypes McCaffery’s Achievements Despite Hers
Clark has been having a good run in the WNBA, but her success has not stopped her from highlighting how great her beau is doing. In fact, after the 26-year-old, the son of former Iowa basketball coach Fran McCaffery, was tapped as a new assistant coach for Butler University, Caitlin Clark was among the first to celebrate.
She took to her Instagram page to share the news, adding, “Yayy!! So happy for you.” Also, earlier this year, the WNBA star expressed affection for her boyfriend with a heartfelt birthday post.
“Thankful to have someone as selfless and as loving as you in my life,” she wrote in July. “May this be the year you finally find a way to outshoot me ;).”
How Much Does Caitlin Clark Get Paid in the WNBA?
Caitlin Clark earns a base wage of $76,535 as a WNBA rookie and has a four-year contract worth $338,056. Like the other female players, Caitlin Clark’s salary is disheartening, especially considering the average NBA rookie will walk away with $10 million in compensation.
This is all because wages are limited by the WNBA’s collective bargaining agreement, which was negotiated in 2020 and will remain until 2027.
