Ben Higgins and Jessica Clarke delighted their fans recently when they revealed that she is carrying a baby. The news had people excited, not just because a new life was about to be born but also because it was further proof their relationship was getting stronger.
Clarke’s relationship with Higgins comes years after his split from Lauren Bushnell, his finalist from “The Bachelor.” The proposal reportedly came after he immediately said goodbye to his runner-up, JoJo Fletcher, another woman he loved.
Ben Higgins and Jessica Clarke Shared the Joyful News via Social Media
Many people were in a celebratory mood on Sunday, August 18, when Ben Higgins, 35, and his wife, Jessica Clarke, announced in a heartwarming Instagram Reel that Clarke, 29, is pregnant with a baby girl.
They both took to their respective Instagram accounts to share the video, which contained clips of different moments in their relationship, including their engagement proposal, scenes from their wedding, and footage of them hugging while country singer Cody Johnson’s song “On My Way to You” played in the background.

The video montage included a clip of the couple’s dog Waylon wearing a handkerchief reading “Big Brother,” Clarke injecting herself with a shot into her stomach — seemingly with a hormone injection for promoting pregnancy — and reactions of their friends and family reacting to the news of her pregnancy.
There was also footage of a sonogram showing that Clarke was 12 weeks pregnant when it was filmed. “The next chapter of our love story! Baby girl coming in February,” the pair wrote in the caption, teasing the baby’s due date.
Ben Higgins and Jessica Clarke Took Their Time
In 2022, Higgins opened up about their plans to have kids, stating at the time that they were in no rush to welcome any.
“We’re excited for kids,” he said. “I believe that God willing, we will have kids. But right now, it’s not a conversation we have often, and it’s not something I believe either of us are craving. You know, you hear the ‘baby fever,’ I don’t know if either of us have baby fever right now.”
The pair instead took in a puppy and dedicated their time to being its parents. “We do have a kid,” Higgins said at the time. “It’s a puppy, and we’re trying really hard to make sure that puppy is the best puppy possible…We’re making good progress.”
When Did Ben Higgins and Jessica Clarke Get Married?
Ben Higgins and Jessica Clarke got married in November 2021 after about two years of planning. The romantic ceremony took place at The Estate in Cherokee Dock near Nashville.
Some of those who witnessed the occasion included fellow “Bachelor” franchise alums Nick Viall, Becca Kufrin, Thomas Jacobs, Jared Haibon, Ashley Iaconnetti, and Wells Adams, the groomsman.
They took a great deal of time to plan the event. But nothing could prepare Higgins for the impact his wife’s beauty had on him that day. “Here I had my best friend standing in front of me, glowing with beauty. I am so lucky to commit my life to hers,” he said.
Meanwhile, Clarke added, “I could see in the way he looked at me how excited and happy he was. I am just the luckiest girl in the world,” Clarke confirmed.
What Happened Between Higgins and Lauren Bushnell?
Ben Higgins once starred in “The Bachelor,” where he met and fell in love with two women simultaneously. The reality TV star had famously told both Lauren Bushnell, the finalist in his season of “The Bachelor,” that he loved her. But he also said the same to her runner-up, JoJo Fletcher, a novel occurrence in the franchise’s history.
Higgins ultimately moved on with Bushnell, to whom he got engaged when the show ended. However, their relationship was not destined for longevity, as they announced their split in May 2017. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Higgins confessed that they had been struggling before they eventually parted ways.

“We were just looking for an out but trying our best to make it last as long as we could to see if maybe we found the secret sauce,” he said. “At some point, we never did.” Higgins found that secret sauce with Clarke, and now they have added a baby to the mix. Fans can’t wait for more updates from the gorgeous family.
