Affleck and Lopez have been surrounded by divorce rumors for weeks now. Among other things, reports claim they are trying to sell their Beverly Hills, California mansion as soon as possible.

A source close to the pair told US Weekly that they expected the house to sell quickly off-market but have now made a “game-time decision in order to put more eyes on the property.”

The insider added, “They are in a rush to sell it. Ben especially wants to be done with the house. He was never happy there.” Their decision to list the house publicly was reportedly made “within the last week.”

News of their attempts to sell their house off the market first spread in June. Then, on July 1, Page Six reported that Affleck and Lopez were also attempting to offload some of their art pieces.

Why Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Want the House Gone

According to the Us Weekly source, the pair “never felt settled” in the 38,000-square-foot abode. They also rarely have all their kids there at once, and the house felt huge for just them. A source once told People that Affleck thought the house was “too far” from his kids, while Lopez felt it was “too big.” 

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez purchased the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom home in June 2023 for $60.85 million. They settled on it after searching for their dream house for an extended period. Neither expected the hatred they would develop for the house just a year later.

Affleck and Lopez have five children together. The Grammy nominee has 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, Affleck has daughters Violet, 18, and Seraphina, 15, and son Samuel, 12, with his ex-husband, Jennifer Garner.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez bought the home they are now trying to sell just under a year after they eloped in Las Vegas two decades after they were initially engaged. At the time, Lopez was still very much in love.

She revealed that love was “beautiful” and “patient.” This statement was prompted by her feelings for Affleck. However, her sentiments have changed since then, and she is reportedly over her marriage to the veteran actor.

In June, one insider told Daily Mail that Lopez had tried her best, but things were only worsening. Someone close to Affleck has also revealed that he would even “divorce on the grounds of temporary insanity” if it was possible. 

The actor reportedly considers times when he was happy with Lopez a “fever dream” he has woken up from. Now that he has come to his senses, he understands that the relationship cannot work.

So, to answer the question, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s divorce has yet to happen, but they are certainly building up to it. They seem to be clearing house right now, and their fans suspect a divorce may come next.

Why Did Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez Divorce? 

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s love story began with their first meeting in 1998 when Anthony was performing on Broadway. The pair hit it off, but their initial romance was only a flare, as it was brief.

They reconnected in early 2004, after which the flare became a forest fire that led to their secret wedding in June. They welcomed two kids, twins Emme and Max, in 2008. However, by 2011, cracks appeared in their relationship, eventually leading to a public split, which marked the end of their happy ever after.

Similar cracks have appeared in her marriage with Affleck, and like before, they seem to be leading the pair to the same conclusion—separation.
