Popular American singer and actress Zendaya hasn’t watched “Dancing With the Stars ” since 2013. The California-born actress blamed it on her hectic experience participating in the program’s 2013 edition. Zendaya, whose full name is Zendaya Maree Stoermer, made the revelation on October 3 during her appearance on the Awardist podcast.
Zendaya went on to explain how exhausting her time on the show was. Speaking on the Entertainment Weekly-owned podcast, the multiple award-winning actress described her experience working on the show and why she has shied away from watching it afterward.
“I have not watched ‘Dancing With the Stars’ since I was on,” she confessed with a laugh. She also explained that the show has never been her thing. “I didn’t really watch ‘Dancing With the Stars’ before I was on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ I don’t think I was the target demographic. My grandma loves ‘Dancing with the Stars;’ that’s her bag.”
In addition, Zendaya stated that she experienced a lot of stress during her time there. This experience further diminished what was left of her interest in the program. “I also think it was a very stressful experience. I was like, I don’t think I’m gonna be watching this anymore,” she said.
During the 2013 edition of the show, Zendaya, alongside her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, dazzled viewers with impressive performances. Zendaya, who was 16 then, and Chmerkovskiy slugged it out for the ultimate prize, the mirrorball trophy. Their fiercest rivals were “American Idol” former contestants Kellie Parker and Derek Hough.
