It is important to raise children who know that their choice is the most important thing in the world. Susan Sarandon’s daughter Eva Amurri definitely got the message, and her response to critics of her wedding dress proves it.
Amurri and her partner, chef Ian Hock, tied the knot in a private ceremony in Hudson Valley, New York, on Sunday, June 29, 2024. The pair got engaged in February last year after dating for two years. The announcement was made shortly after in Paris, France.
For the wedding, Susan Sarandon’s daughter chose a strapless Kim Kassas gown she purchased at Bridal Reflections in New York City. The dress was a dream, with a corseted design and a plunging neckline. It was everything Amurri wanted it to be.
However, some people criticized the gown for its revealing neckline as inappropriate for a wedding ceremony. There were hostile comments, but none fazed Amurri, who has since responded.

She took to social media with a picture of her and Hock, who has no problems with what she wore. It is also crucial to note that no frown creased his temple on the wedding day, and he looked absolutely besotted.
However, of course, that was irrelevant to the netizens, who sat comfortably on their judgemental high horses. Little did they know Amurri saw it coming and simply didn’t care. In her caption, she wrote: “To anyone scandalized by my breasts not being ‘put away’…”
She then posted an enlarged image of her chest in a subsequent Instagram story, captioned, “Feel free to screenshot this for later,” alongside a kissing face emoji. The lifestyle blogger has since explained why she chose the dress.
The first reason was the vintage feel of the attire, and she also loved how feminine it was. Susan Sarandon’s daughter explained that she wanted something that would make her feel “sexy but elegant,” and the dress struck the perfect balance.
Her happiness was evident on the wedding day, and so was her satisfaction with her choice. Meanwhile, her mother wore a floral-print two-piece suit for the small ceremony, which was an intimate affair in front of 40 guests.

The bride and groom deviated from the traditional norm by sharing personal vows at the “French and garden”-themed party. Their vows were in the form of love letters to each other — something Amurri says made it special for them.
This is Susan Sarandon’s daughter’s second marriage. Her first husband is Major League soccer player and NBC sports broadcaster Kyle Martino, with whom she shares three children. Their marriage lasted between 2011 and 2019, when they announced their separation.
The announcement came two months after they revealed they were expecting their third child. Susan Sarandon’s daughter and her ex-husband finalized their divorce in March 2020, after which she met Hock. According to Amurri, it was easier to plan their wedding because she already had experience.
From the ceremony to the outfit she wore, everything went according to her plan. She said it was thanks to all she learned from her first wedding experience and because she now knows herself very well.
