Nicki Minaj fans were disappointed when she canceled her New Orleans show on the “Pink Friday 2” World Tour due to illness. The rapper was supposed to perform at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Monday, March 18, 2024. However, according to Fox 8 Live, it was suddenly canceled just a few hours before the show.
Social media users have sent their get-well wishes to Nicki Minaj after an unexpected hiccup in her “Pink Friday 2” World tour.
The Smoothie King Center Announced the Cancellation on Their Instagram Page
The Smoothie King Center’s official Instagram account hopped on the platform around 4 or 5 p.m. on Monday to give fans the lowdown on why the concert was canceled. In an Instagram post, the center wrote, “Due to doctor’s orders, Nicki Minaj must reschedule her NOLA show tonight.”
“As Nicki is still sick, our team does not want to risk getting others sick, and Nicki would not be able to give NOLA the show they deserve.” Although food and beverage vendors received an email about the cancellation that afternoon, some concertgoers were still upset.
They complained about finding out about the cancellation a few hours before it was supposed to start. They feel it would have been better if the venue made a public announcement earlier.

Reactions From Different Concert Goers After Smoothie King Center Announced
The cancellation announcement didn’t go well with fans who expressed disappointment in Smoothie King Center’s Instagram comment section. An Instagram user wrote, “Nobody is mad bc she canceled; it’s the fact they waited 4 hours before the event to tell us officially.”
Another user lamented and questioned their professionalism. The user said, “Y’all do realize people used their PTO, paid for rooms, traveled, and bought the tickets. On top of that, that alone is a $500-$1,500 trip, especially if you got the GAG city package.”
“They are more so upset due to the unprofessional. They definitely should’ve said something yesterday instead of hours before the show. A waste of time and money because even if she does refund the tickets, they can’t refund their place of stay and transportation,” the user added.

Her fans commented on the post, sending her wishes. An X user commented, “Baby, no, you gotta do it. Keep drinking a lot of fluid. We’ll be here to guide you through.”
Another fan sent prayers to her favorite, writing, “Lord, I ask that you create a shield within your presence for Onika and her family to protect her and them from any sickness or any entity that is not of you.”
“God, I rebuke the spirit of sickness and pray for immediate strength, protection, and healing. In Jesus’ name, you will get better. Today, you will be better than yesterday. Amen,” she prayed.

Nicki Minaj Made Headlines When She Requested a Comedian to Join Her Tour
Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Friday 2” world tour has kept fans on their toes since its announcement in December 2023. And in February 2024, fans were surprised when Monica spilled the beans that she was joining Minaj on tour.
However, the suspense didn’t stop there. A few weeks later, Minaj shared a special request for Katt Williams, asking him to join her on tour. “Now, I know this is the busiest man in show business, okay? I know that he’s rich, and I know that he’s the funniest man in show biz,” she explained.
“Can y’all hit up Katt Williams and ask him what would be his price to be a part of the ‘Pink Friday 2/Gag City’ tour?”
Highlights of the Pinky Friday 2 Album
The “Pink Friday 2” World Tour is about supporting Nicki Minaj’s album, “Pink Friday 2,” which dropped in December 2023. She collaborated with artists like Drake, J. Cole, Future, Lil Wayne, and Lil Uzi Vert. It’s no wonder it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 288,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
Nicki Minaj also went all out with the deluxe versions of her album, “Pink Friday 2.” She dropped some impressive extra tracks that are worth talking about, “Beep Beep” featuring 50 Cent, “Love Me Enough” featuring Keyshia Cole and Monica (who was also part of the tour), and “Press Play” featuring Future. These collaborations took the album to a whole new level of awesomeness.
