Everyone knows Nick Cannon as that man whose accomplishments are beyond simple description. Yet, In January 2012, he encountered a challenge unlike any he had faced before. He was diagnosed with lupus nephritis, a serious form of lupus that affects the kidneys.
Initially attributing his discomfort to the high altitude, Cannon found himself struggling with severe breathing difficulties and intense kidney pain. Alarmed, he sought medical attention and was hospitalized on January 4, 2012, where tests confirmed the life-altering diagnosis.
Faced with the reality of his health situation, Cannon had to step away from his popular morning radio show on CBS affiliate WXRK-FM in New York. To date, he maintains a regular exercise routine, working out five times a week. Moreover, he has successfully reduced his medication intake to just a few, including a very low dose of prednisone.
