Since the US presidential election was concluded, Trump’s cabinet, who will be on it and who won’t, has been the talk of the town. The former president, now the president-elect, has wasted no time making cabinet picks, and some have been controversial.
TippingTrends previously reported that Trump named Matt Gaetz as his nominee for attorney general and Pete Hegseth as his pick for defense secretary. Gaetz’s nomination as Attorney General has raised concerns due to allegations against him involving drugs, bribes, and sex.
As for Hegseth, critics pointed to his lack of political experience and past allegations of misconduct as issues that threaten his nomination for Defense Secretary. Trump was reportedly considering Robert F Kennedy Jr to be health secretary and seems to have settled on that decision.

However, the choice raised eyebrows, especially among health experts, because of RFK Jr’s stance on various medical subjects. He is known for being anti-vaccine with an ax to grind against big pharma. And it doesn’t help that he has no physical health background or scientific degree to back up his claims.
Meanwhile Marco Rubio has been nominated as the next possible Secretary of State. The nomination is historic as he is the first Latino to take the position. But it could be challenged because of his hawkish views on China.

Can Democrats in the Senate Block Trump’s Cabinet Picks?
The Senate plays a key role in confirming presidential cabinet picks via its advice and consent function. As such, nominees must be approved by a majority vote in the Senate. And if it is under democratic control then they may be able to stop some appointments. If four Republican senators and all the Democrats disagree with any individual then that nomination will fail.
