Republicans are angry. It is a cliche comment since they always seem that way. However, their feathers were properly ruffled this time, and Jill Biden is paying the price. Why are they angry? Nothing much. Just that Jill Biden, a 73-year-old woman with no history in modeling, was featured on the Vogue magazine cover. A second time.
The feature was for Vogue’s August issue. It offers a glimpse into the Biden White House and presidential campaign. It also presented Jill Biden as a devoted wife who is willing to support her husband as more people doubt his ability to lead.
Some have always questioned Joe Biden’s mental alacrity. However, not many from within his party spoke against it, at least not publicly—until the debate.
Biden performed woefully on debate night, and even though Trump committed many fouls, there is no question about his mental alertness. The president’s terrible performance has triggered an uprising within his party, and more Democrats are speaking up.

Jill’s cover story in Vogue comes amid all that. But as the Democratic Camp is seemingly divided, not many defenders are rushing to her rescue. Her appearance on Vogue has sparked outrage, and many Republicans have taken to social media to air their opinions.
Jimmy Failla, a Fox News host, spoke his mind on X, formerly Twitter. He compared Melania Trump to Jill, pointing out that only one is an actual multilingual supermodel. But only one made it to the cover of Vogue.
Newsmax anchor Greta Van Susteren also made the same point after highlighting how beautiful Jill looks on the cover. Former NBC senior executive Mike Sington has also weighed in. He thought it was a good time to remind everyone that Melania never got the same privileges as Jill when she was First Lady.
C.J. Pearson, a co-chair of the GOP Youth Advisory Council, called Jill’s cover “absurd” and said it is “asinine” that Melania never got the opportunity. Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt went further. He called the cover a “puff piece on the most valueless person in America.” He also referred to Joe as a “corpse-like husband” Jill is trying to keep in the White House.

Since the debate, Biden’s campaign has suffered on both ends. The Republicans have intensified their allegations that Biden is unfit to run, while the Democrats have also been calling for him to step down for a different nominee.
Despite the situation, Joe seems undaunted and remains stubborn, bent on running. Reports claim his family recently met at Camp David to discuss plans for the future election.
According to an editor’s note in the Vogue feature, Jill says they will keep fighting. This is an admirable sentiment. But one has to wonder how long it will hold out in the face of external and internal pressure.
