Jennifer Hudson, the acclaimed talk show host, actor, producer, and recording artist, will receive the 2024 Television Chairman’s Award. Hudson will receive this honor on the Main Stage at the NAB Show during the “We Are Broadcasters” session on Tuesday, April 16, at 9:30 a.m.
The NAB TV Chairman’s Award celebrates individuals who made groundbreaking contributions in one or more specific art disciplines within television. Established in 2009, the inaugural recipient was the four-time Emmy and two-time Golden Globe-winning actor Kelsey Grammar.
Previous honorees include Sterling K. Brown of “This Is Us” and “Black Panther” fame and Kristen Bell from television and film. Also, it includes award-winning actor and activist Terry Crews and Emmy-winning host Mario Lopez.
NAB Television Board Chair Pat LaPlatney admired Jennifer Hudson’s distinguished career, spanning various parts of the industry. This includes television, music, and the big screen. LaPlatney stated, “I am honored to present her with the NAB TV Chairman’s Award during the NAB Show in recognition of her outstanding work.”

Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, also expressed high praise for Hudson. He stated, “Jennifer Hudson is in a league of her own. She is an inspiring force and expert in her craft. She continues to prove her talent has no bounds, and there is no limit to what she can achieve.”
He continued, “We are honored to be her creative home and congratulate her on this prestigious award.” Hudson’s nationally syndicated talk show, “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” has recognition with six Daytime Emmy Award nominations and two People’s Choice Awards nominations.
The second season featured an impressive guest lineup, including Oprah Winfrey and Shaquille O’Neal, which earned her the AAFCA “We See You Award.” In addition, she earned the NAACP Image Award for Best Talk Show Host.
Furthermore, Hudson is one of People magazine’s “People of the Year” and honored as one of Glamour magazine’s “Women of the Year.” Produced by JHUD Productions and Warner Bros, “The Jennifer Hudson Show” received the green light for a third season. According to the Fox Television Stations and Hearst Television, this is with renewal.

Hudson has gotten numerous accolades throughout her career, including recognition as one of Time magazine’s “Most Influential People in the World.” She was once a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She also received the NAACP Entertainer of the Year award, delivered standout performances at the Super Bowl, and sang for world leaders. Moreover, she holds the distinction of a day named after her in Chicago.
