Here’s What Netflix Is Removing From Its Library This Month

Netflix removes a new batch of movies and TV shows each month. And this month, February 2024, is no different. Why does Netflix remove content? It’s because of how licensing agreements work. Many titles are only available on the platform for a fixed period before the license goes back to the owner, which will then head to rival services.

It feels like Netflix is barely losing any movies this month because there are so few departures. More new movies are coming to Netflix this month than those on their way out. Among this month’s batch is the Oscar award-winning Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone film, “La La Land.”

Also, Denis Villeneuve’s thriller, “Prisoners,” starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. The list includes several star-studded and highly-rated films. Don’t be surprised when your favorite movie or show that’s been sitting on your watchlist for years suddenly disappears. Here’s a list to help you adjust your streaming plans.

On February 1, 2024, “The Addams Family” (1991), “The Arctic,” “Baby Mama,” “Bad Day for the Cut,” and “Beverly Hills Cop” will be leaving the platform. Also, “Black Christmas” (2019), “Black Hawk Down,” “Black Swan,” “The Bling Ring,” and “Call Me by Your Name” are going off Netflix.

In addition, “Click & Collect,” “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2,” “DC League of Super-Pets, Downsizing,” and “Eagle Eye.” Furthermore, Netflix lists “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” “Ghostbusters (2016),” “Green Lantern,” “Guilty, Heat,” “Heatwave,” and “How Do You Know.”

The list for February continued with “How to Train Your Dragon,” “In the Line of Fire,” and “La La Land.” As well as “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,” “Murder on the Orient Express,” “National Champions,” “Nerve,” and “The One.”

On February 3, 2024, the platform removed “Benediction” and “Lansky.” On February 4, “Doob: No Bed of Roses” also left Netflix. Similarly, on February 5, the streaming platform bid goodbye to “Gully, The Informer” and “Sicario.”

Viewers will also say goodbye to “She’s the Man” on February 9. Afterward, on February 10, 2024, “Can You Keep a Secret?” “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” “Prisoners,” and “Synchronic” will be leaving the streaming platform.

Also, by February 11, “Father Stu,” “Goosebumps,” and “Mundina Nildana” will no longer be available to viewers. The removals continue on February 12 with “American Sniper” and “This is the Life.” Furthermore, on February 13, “Christine” will be the only movie to leave Netflix.

February 15 will see “Ayana,” “Chicken Run,” “The First Wives Club,” “Genius, Hostel: Part III,” “Knight and Day,” “Love & Other Drugs,” “Prometheus,” “Real Steel,” and “A Time to Kill” end their contracts with Netflix.

Also, on February 16, Netflix will remove “Bridesmaid,” “Last Man Down,” and “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone” from its archives. “Pahuna” and “Operation Finale” will also go off on February 17 and 20, respectively.

The last day of the month, February 29, will also see the exit of four movies, “The Farewell,” “Morbius,” “The Last Black Man in San Francisco,” and “Snowpiercer.” While it’s been movies all along, TV shows are also leaving.

For TV shows, February 1 saw the end of “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: The Series” season 1 and “Survivor” season 32. Also, the platform pulled “Zig & Sharko” season 3. February 2 also saw the removal of “Come Dine with ME,” “Deadline,” and “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.”

On February 4, “The Ultimate Braai Master” and “Around the World in 80 Days” were removed. “Bangkok Love Stories: Innocence,” “Sons of the Caliphate,” and “Sword Art Online” will be removed today, February 7. On February 8, “Meet the Adebanjos” will be pulled, and “Sleepless Society: Insomnia” on February 13, 2024.

February 16 will also end “Battlebots” and “Below Deck Sailing Yacht.” Similarly, February 17 will see “Versailles” Season 3 exiting the platform. “Zindagi in Short,” “Married at First Sight” season 12, and “The Real World” season 12 will leave Netflix on February 21 and 24, respectively.

On February 27, we have “19-2,” “Million Pound Menu,” and “Unsolved: Tupac & Biggie” also leaving Netflix. In addition, “American Pickers” season 15 will leave the streaming platform on February 28, and “Babylon Berlin” on February 29.

For documentaries, “Adrian Dunbar’s Coastal Ireland” stopped streaming on February 2. Also, “Gareth Thomas: HIV and Me” will stream for the last time on February 16. Finally, comedies are not left out.

“Greg Davies Live: Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog” and “Greg Davies Live: The Back of My Mum’s Head” will stop streaming on February 16, 2024. And on February 20, 2024, “Kevin James: Sweat the Small Stuff” will exit the platform.
