“Gossip Girl” star Taylor Momsen won’t be able to perform for two weeks until she’s done with her treatment. On May 29, the renowned singer got bitten by a bat while she performed with her band on stage. When the bat clung to the bottom of her dress, she performed her song “Witches Burn” as an opening act for AC/DC.
Momsen was clueless about the fact that she had a bat on her dress. She only found out when the crowd informed her. The 30-year-old singer spoke about the attack on her Instagram page, where she shared a video of the incident. According to the video, Momsen was unaware she had a little intruder above her knee.
Momsen’s Reaction to the Incident
After the incident, the “Gossip Girl” star shared a video with the caption, “So…ROCK AND ROLL MOMENT…in Sevilla Wednesday during “Witches Burn” of all songs… a BAT flew onto me and clung to my leg…” In the caption, she also explained that she had no idea that a bat was on her lap till the crowd screamed and pointed at it.
Despite being horrified, the singer still finds the bat cute. After the bat was taken off, she jokingly told the crowd that she would consider making it her new friend. Aside from sharing the video of the incident, Momsen shared a clip of the bite and a picture of herself at the hospital receiving treatment.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, bat bites can cause rabies, an illness that can become fatal if not treated immediately. Rabies infects the central nervous system and can cause various symptoms, such as hallucinations, insomnia, or abnormal behavior.
If not taken care of immediately, it can lead to coma and then death. So, for Momsen’s safety, she’ll need to take a series of four or five vaccines.
Fans React to Momsen’s Bat Bite
After Momsen posted the incident on her Instagram page, fans took some time to share their thoughts about it. One of her fans stated that the incident was the most witchy thing that had ever happened. “I’m obsessed with it,” the fan added. Another fan who was present at the show said, “The show was epic. Especially if it’s seen from a rock’ n roll perspective.”
A third fan said, “As if that tour wasn’t already memorable, this is extra cherry on top!” Most of her fans seem to think the incident was iconic. However, one of her fans said they wouldn’t have tried to be calm about the situation if the incident had happened to them.
Trust me, the last fan’s comment is quite relatable. The singer seemed horrified but remained collected.

According to Taylor Momsen, she woke up one morning and told herself she didn’t have to go through the show. “I can just play in my band and tour and write songs. I can just do that?” Momsen said.
