Over the weekend, Florida authorities successfully apprehended Davie Albarran, a suspected child sex offender. Notably, Albarran prominently featured on ‘America Most Wanted.’ The 51-year-old fugitive faces charges of sexual battery on a child under 12 and lewd conduct with a child under 12 in Osceola County.
According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, authorities brought him to justice in an arrest in Lakeland on Sunday, February 18, 2024. In addition to his severe charges in Osceola County, Judd said Albarran failed to meet child support obligations. This is reportedly in a separate case in Orange County.
In an online video, Judd said, “Well, he made a mistake. “AMW (America’s Most Wanted) ran him all over the nation, and he came to Lakeland. When he came to Lakeland, we received confidential information. They said, ‘Hey, we know where this dude is.'”
He continued, “So we snuck around Sunday night just before midnight in a backyard in County Haven Drive. Well, it might have been County Haven Drive, but it was no haven for him.” According to Judd, Albarran’s dark saga took center stage on the crime show in December 2022.
The disturbing allegations against him were confined to the television screen and in a heartfelt plea of his daughter, Ana. According to FOX 35 Orlando, she expressed a desire to see her father behind bars. Ana took matters into her own hands on several social media platforms.
In a TikTok post, she urged the public to aid in her father’s arrest. “Please share and paint the city with his face,” she begged. Additionally, Ana didn’t mince words. She boldly said, “My father, Davie Albarran, is a pedophile. He’s on the run, and the cops are looking for him.”
The details of Albarran’s allegation hit even closer to home, as Ana accused him of this inappropriate behavior during her childhood. In a report to a news station in 2022, Ana disclosed the painful truth behind the social media plea.
She shared, “When I posted it, so many people gave me messages saying you know what, your dad did that to me too.” After Albarran’s arrest, Ana told FOX 35 in Orlando: “I just feel so liberated and free, like I don’t have to do this anymore.”
She continued, “I don’t have to look for him. Of course, we have the court process, but my search for him is over, which means I can go back to my life.” Notably, the arrest affidavit showed that Albarran tried to hide his identity, claiming to be “Jose Rodriguez.”
However, law enforcement saw through the deception, identifying him through his driver’s license photo. According to online records, as of the morning of Tuesday, February 20, Albarran remains at Polk County Jail.
Ana and her sister are determined to see justice served in a court of law. “We are his karma. I want him to see that we got him,” said Yaneiry in an interview with the outlet. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has not explained when they will extradite Albarran to Osceola. Also, it remains unclear whether Albarran has legal representation at this point.
