The “Emily in Paris” cast has an axe to grind with co-star Lucas Bravo. Sources have revealed that they are upset with him over his recent comments about the show. Lucas Bravo drew the anger of his fellow actors after he bashed the series in an interview. Bravo stated that he had lost some interest in the show and lambasted the showrunners for their lack of courage.
He made his feelings known during an interview with French outlet, Le Figaro, in October 2024. Bravo played the character Gabriel in the Netflix-hit series one of Emily’s love interests in the show’s first season. But Bravo has been dissatisfied with how his character has turned out in subsequent seasons.
He stated that although the Emmy-nominated film has made him way more popular, he hasn’t enjoyed playing Gabriel for the past few seasons. Bravo bluntly stated that he doesn’t find the new Gabriel as stimulating as he used to be.
The actor dropped the bombshell when he hinted that he likely wouldn’t be returning to the show after its 4th season. The actor has previously disclosed that his contract with the producers doesn’t extend beyond the fourth season.
A source close to the cast has revealed that the rest of the cast is so hurt by Bravo’s comments that there will be a lot of tension when filming resumes. But what could his comments mean for the future of the show and his relationship with his fellow cast?

Lucas Bravo’s Comment About “Emily in Paris“
In an interview, the French actor appreciated the role the movie has played in his life and career. He said, “Emily in Paris gave me a snowball effect which allowed me to meet certain people, to try to set up something lasting.” He also conceded that the comedy was high in entertainment value. However, he stated that the movie falls short of depth.
In the series, Emily (Played by Lily Collins) was in an unstable relationship with Gabriel after her relocation to Paris. But after season 1, Gabriel became more of a sad, melancholic figure who, according to Bravo, had lost his spark. “I would like him to find a bit of panache again,” Bravo told the outlet.
In the series, Emily relocated to Rome in the fourth season, giving enough room for the showrunners to faze out Bravo’s character. Bravo himself wants to move on to other projects. “I don’t really have any freedom and, as people start to give me some elsewhere, I’m getting a taste for it,” he said in the interview.
A source disclosed that the series wouldn’t miss Bravo too much. “The show will go on with or without Lucas. The show is ‘Emily In Paris’ — not Gabriel in Paris,” the source told journalists. “Everyone is so upset about the remarks he made,” they added.
Lucas Bravo Slammed the Show in Another Interview
Interestingly, Bravo wasn’t too bothered about the effects of his criticism. Instead, he doubled down on his opinion in another interview with IndieWire. There, he disclosed that he didn’t derive fun watching the character he loved become a shadow of itself. He said he lost touch with the character “because of the choices he makes and because of the direction they make him take.”
Also, Lucas Bravo stated that he tried to bring in some ideas to bring back the spark in Gabriel. But he didn’t have liberty on set. “We cannot change a word or an emotion,” Bravo revealed. ‘They know what they want and we just have to comply.”

Meet the Cast of “Emily in Paris“
The success of the “Emily in Paris” series rests largely on the impressive display of its cast. Let’s look at the “Emily in Paris” cast who made the project what it is.
Lily Collins played Emily Cooper, an ambitious and hardworking lady who got transferred from her marketing job in Chicago to Paris.
Then there is Gabriel, a French chef, played by Lucas Bravo. Gabriel lived on the floor beneath Emily’s and had a complex relationship with her. Camille Razat played Camille, a friend of Emily’s who later clashed with her when Emily discovered that Camille and Gabriel were seeing each other. Camille later cheated on Gabriel.
Lucien Laviscount played Alfie, another of Emily’s love interests. Alfie was a British banker who wasn’t supposed to stay in Paris for long. However, his feelings for Emily made him change his mind. Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu played Sylvie Grateau, Emily’s boss. She didn’t initially get along with Emily. Sylvie has multiple lovers even though she is married.
Samuel Arnold was cast as Julien, one of Emily’s colleagues. He also didn’t take after her initially. He later left the company but returned later to fight alongside Sylvie when a rival tried to knock her off her position.
Are the “Emily in Paris” Cast Close?
Yes! The “Emily in Paris” cast are close and enjoy a cordial relationship on set. Some are even friends off the set. For example, two of the cast, Paul Forman and Ashley Park, who dated on the show, are also lovers in real life.
Their closeness could be what has made them so upset and hurt by Lucas Bravo’s comments concerning the show. Hopefully, they can mend fences and their friendship with him doesn’t go down the drain when they meet to film the rest of season 4.
