Some actors go all out to become the characters they play in a movie or television show. Mexican actress Eiza González has considered making significant changes to her appearance to increase her chances of getting a movie role.
Eiza González is a famous Mexican actress and singer. She’s appeared in movies like “Baby Driver” and “Godzilla vs. Kong.” As an actress, she’s super talented and has a really strong presence on screen. She’s passionate about challenging stereotypes and promoting diversity in the entertainment industry.
However, González has contemplated drastic changes like shaving her head to become “less attractive” for movie roles. Here’s why.
Eiza González Recounts How She’s Told She Was “Too Pretty” for a Role
In an interview, the 34-year-old actress told InStyle that she remembers being told for so many projects that she’s too pretty for a particular movie role. She said, “I remember being [told for] so many projects, ‘She’s too pretty for the role. She’s too hot for the role.'”
“Then I’d just be like, ‘What is Margot Robbie? She’s the hottest, most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in my life,'” she added.

She Reveals How She Has Had an Identity Crisis for a Long Time
“I had an identity crisis for a very long time,” the stunning actress revealed. “I was like, ‘Do I shave my head? Do I make myself less attractive? Make myself more attractive? Do I not dress super-hot, or do I dress super-hot, or do I cover myself all the time?”
González is often called “sexy,” especially because of the roles she’s played in movies like “Baby Driver” and “From Dusk Till Dawn.” However, she’s not really into that label and what it implies. Instead, she’s all about breaking those stereotypes and being recognized for her talent and hard work.
She Further Shared How She Thinks It Is an Overly Sexualized Idea of a Latin Woman
During the interview, the stunning actress shared her feelings about the term. González said being called “sexy” is an overly sexualized stereotype of a Latin woman. Also, she said she’s disappointed and finds the idea pathetic.
She wants to be recognized for her talent and not just reduced to this one-dimensional image. Eiza González challenges these kinds of stereotypes and embraces the diversity and complexity of her identity.
She admitted that it’s been the biggest struggle of her career. The actress also noted that it’s unfair that none of her white friends in the industry had to deal with that. She said, “None of my white friends in the industry were getting that. It was just me.”

And it had such a huge impact on her. She struggled with eating disorders from such a young age, and it got even worse because the paparazzi would take pictures of her on the beach and zoom in on her cellulite. She said it was the scariest moment of her life. It’s heartbreaking to hear how the media can be so cruel and damaging.

“I didn’t want to talk about my feelings because I was in shock and I was traumatized,” she told the magazine. She quit a few years later but returned to it in her early 20s and hasn’t left since. “Everyone needs therapy,” she said.
“Therapy is the most normal (thing)! The concept of this prefixed negative idea about therapy is nuts to me. I think therapy is just the healthiest thing anyone could do.”
