Drake’s son, Adonis Mahbed Graham, had a birthday to remember on Friday, October 11. Drake organized a Spongebob-themed party to mark Adonis’s 7th birthday. He and his little boy also shared some photo moments. The rapper seemed like a super-proud father as he grinned widely in one photo and wrapped his arms around the lad in another.
A few hours later, the “God’s Plan” rapper posted the photos on his Instagram page. This is a sharp contrast to Drake, who initially denied his son’s paternity back in 2017. At the time, Drake was skeptical after Adonis’ mother, Sophie Brussaux, informed the Grammy Award-winning rapper that she had a son for him.
Brussaux had to hire the services of two New York City lawyers to prove her son’s paternity in court. However, news of the boy’s birth spread on social media after fellow rapper Pusha T disclosed Adonis’ identity in a 2018 diss track, “The Story of Adidon.” Slowly, Drake, who never intended to father a child at the time, came to terms with the new reality.
Afterward, the talented rapper began his parental role in earnest. Father and son soon began attending award and red-carpet shows together. Adonis even featured in a number of his dad’s music videos.
Speaking on his relationship with his son and baby mama, Drake said, “We have found ourselves in a situation, and we are both equally responsible. Now, I’m just really excited to be a great father.”

How Did Drake’s Son Spend His Birthday?
Adonis’s 7th birthday was another occasion for the 37-year-old hip-hop star to demonstrate how proud he was of being Adonis’ father. During the birthday party, he posed for photos with the birthday boy, which he later posted on social media. “Big Don” read the posts’ caption alongside a heart emoji with an arrow pierced through it.
In the photos, Drake wore a bright orange Fox Racing long-sleeve shirt, while Adonis wore a yellow Spongebob hoodie. The rapper stooped low while wrapping Adonis’s chest with his arms from behind in one photo.
In another, father and son stood erect with their chins up and expressionless look on their faces. Both photos showed a Spongebob Squarepants-inspired backdrop that read “Adonis 7th Birthday.”
These photos prove that the Canadian-born rapper doesn’t regret his son’s birth. In one of the tracks in his “Scorpion” album, Drake gave reasons for his initial decision to keep his child’s identity a secret. “I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world / I was hiding the world from my kid,” he declared.

As a painter, Brussaux has achieved some success. A portrait she made of Pope Francis attracted some recognition and paved the way for her to meet the cleric in November 2019. Speaking about the meeting, she wrote in a social media post, “Such an honor to meet Pope Francis and gift him the portrait I painted for him in honor of his concert with and for the poor on Nov 9, 2019.”
Rapper Drake’s baby mama still resides in France with their son Adonis. However, she releases the boy to visit his father in Toronto and Los Angeles.
