On Saturday morning, February 10, 2024, a tragic incident happened during the “Magic in the Stars” show at Minneapolis’s Target Center. Disney on Ice performer Anastacia Olson, 31, who was playing Disney Princess Belle, fell.
The performer reportedly fell when her dance partner lifted her. Unfortunately, she is still in a severe condition due to the fall. She is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital, according to a spokesperson for Hennepin Medical Center.
In response to the sad occurrence, Disney on Ice issued a statement expressing gratitude for the well wishes from fans as their team member undergoes recovery. Beka, an audience member who attended the morning show with her children, reported the details of the incident to local news outlets.
She mentioned that the incident happened nearly 40 minutes into the show. “They were doing a lift, and it appeared shaky, resulting in her fall,” she said. “I am beyond thankful for the remaining staff and performers who continued the show. It preserves the magic for the kids.”

Beka further noted how the whole situation must have been difficult for them. Footage posted on X shows the incident, capturing Olson lying on the side of the ice rink. The video also showed her partner and other staff members attending to her.
One X user shared details on the incident, saying, “Belle fell during a lift at Disney on Ice Minneapolis. The Beast stumbled into the side during a lift and dropped Belle on the ice. She immediately started seizing and was carried out on a stretcher.”
Olson shared a few things in an interview with a local Michigan outlet before the sad event. She enthusiastically described “Magic in the Stars” as a “really wonderful kind of show that reaches out to everybody, not just kids and families.”
She continued, “I feel that there is something for everyone to see. It really is a wonderful show.” Despite the sad incident, the show continues as Disney on Ice confirms that upcoming shows will proceed as scheduled.

While the extent of Olson’s injuries is uncertain, the global ice skating community and fans unite, sharing messages of hope. Supportive messages have flooded Olson’s social media account from fans of the show, including Amanda Olson.
Amanda Olson stated, “We were at the show and can’t stop thinking about you. Praying you are going to be ok. Our girls made get-well cards that we hope to someday be able to send you.” Another user commented, “Hope you have a speedy recovery.”
Also, another X user shared, “Praying for you so hard. We were at the show, and my heart has been in a pit ever since. Sending you all the good vibes, love, and prayers.”
Notably, last May, Olson reflected on her skating career. She acknowledged a recent milestone on her Instagram. She said, “After such an emotional weekend, I thought to myself how lucky I am to have called D20 my home for 5 years. The memories and relationships I made here are unforgettable and irreplaceable. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve loved. And in the end, it was all so worth it.”
