Cher led an all-female lineup at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Tuesday, October 16, 2024. The 78-year-old pop star blew fans away as she gave another electrifying performance at the “night of glamour, music, and, of course, fashion.” Other rave-of-the-moment personalities, such as Tyla and Lisa, also had their time on the stage to add color to the night.
In May, the show’s organizers excited their fans as they announced the show’s return after a 6-year hiatus. The show retreated after fans canceled its 2019 edition for its lack of inclusivity. Also, the organizers seemed to have learned a thing or two from the situation.
Their announcement stated, “We’ve read the comments and heard you. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK and will reflect who we are today.” Their choice of music performance lineup was also crucial to the show’s success.
When they unveiled their list, it was clear that the show would be a blast. On September 17, they announced Cher as the headliner. “It’s a woman’s world, so it’s understood that you can’t have a fashion show without the mother of fashion herself—@Cher!” the Instagram post read.

It Started With a Pink Carpet Session
The night of glamor, lingerie, and wings started with a pink carpet. But on the pink carpet, Cher sprinkled some water on the flames of expectations. Speaking with host Olivia Culpo, Cher insisted that her stage outfit wouldn’t be a “big deal.” Clarifying while standing by her boyfriend, Alexander Edwards, 38, she said, “Don’t expect that much.”
The singer was dressed in a plum blazer that rested on a mesh top. It was accompanied by colorful leather barrel pants. Edwards, on the other hand, wore a black suit and a white undershirt. He followed it up with a Vivienne Westwood tie and oval sunglasses. They were in each other’s arms as they posed for photographs.

Just before Cher came up to perform, organizers thrilled the audience with photos of her memorable fashion moments as a choir sang. Afterward, Cher emerged from a cloud of white smoke and stepped gracefully onto the stage with twelve dancers amidst loud cheers.
She wore black cargo pants that shone under the lights alongside a strapless top. She also wore a long-sleeved cropped coat and a dark wig. Models strutted across the stage as the “Goddess of Pop” dazzled the crowd with her performance.
Before Cher, Thai rapper and singer Lisa opened the show with an enthralling performance of “Rockstar.” She sat on a motorcycle for a while before her dancers joined her on the stage. They danced together for some minutes before they all left the platform. Later, she reemerged in a lace bodysuit and gold metallic wings and sang “Moonlit Floor.”
Next up was South African singer and songwriter Tyla. The 22-year-old performed two of her biggest songs, “Water” and “Push 2 Start.” She made jaws drop while dressed in a lace lingerie set with a matching garter and a large pair of fluffy white wings behind her. She completed her look with a pair of sparkling heels and glittering makeup.

Cher performed the medley of two of her hit songs, “Strong Enough” and “Believe,” at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret show. She turned the runway to a disco floor. Behind her, models like Bella Hadid and sister Gigi did what they knew how to do best while mouthing the lyrics of the songs.
“Strong Enough” is a track on Cher’s 22nd album, “Believe.” The song was written by Paul Michael Barry and Mark Phillip Taylor in 1998. “Believe,” another track off the album, was one of the biggest worldwide hits of 1998. The song sat comfortably on the UK singles chart for seven weeks and reinforced Cher’s reputation as a pop icon.
