Cher Shares Reasons Why She Dates Younger Men
While speaking with the TV host on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” the 78-year-old pop star revealed why she loves younger men. However, before she spilled the tea, she explained why she didn’t want to date Elvis Presley. According to Cher, she didn’t date the American singer because she was nervous and she knew the people around him.
“They weren’t bad people,” she said. However, she noted that she was just nervous about his reputation. “I’m really shy when I’m around men outside of my work who have collected awards for over thirty years,” she added. She went on to explain why she loves having a young beau. According to her, men her age are older, and they’re all dead.

But before they died, they were always terrified to approach her. That’s not the case for younger men. “They are bold,” Cher said. The host, Jennifer Hudson, couldn’t help but agree, adding, “Raised by women like me!”
Cher and Her Young Beau
The age gap between Cher and her lover is 40 years. He is 38, while Cher just turned 78 on May 20. Cher’s recent lover is Alexander “AE” Edwards. Their relationship came into the limelight in December 2022. The pop artist shared a picture of Edwards holding a diamond ring on X in a jewelry box with the caption, “THERE R NO WORDS, ALEXANDER, A.E.”
To fans, it looked like Edwards was hinting at an engagement. However, after some hours, Cher reposted the picture to explain why she posted it. She said, “Cause his nails are so cool.” In May 2023, it was reported that Cher and Edwards were no longer dating and never engaged.
Then, in the middle of September, it was reported that the two parties were giving the relationship a shot again.
Love in Paradise
Despite breaking up in May, Cher and Edwards were still in contact. The two parties were willing to make things work out again. As of September 15, 2023, when a picture of Cher and Edwards was taken, they weren’t back together yet, but they enjoyed spending time with each other and making each other happy.

Cher and Edwards were seen several times during Paris Fashion Week, and on September 28, they were seen in matching outfits at Hotel Coates. Edwards was wearing a black tuxedo jacket, while Cher wore a satin dress with a black jacket. For their hair, they both dyed it platinum blonde.
After the Paris Fashion Week, Cher and Edwards attended Givenchy together, where they both wore black outfits. During her interview with PEOPLE in October 2023, she said Edwards is a beautiful man and that she’s been having the best time with him.
She also said, “No matter what happens, I love being with him. He makes me laugh, and we have fun. What I learned is that it’s never too late. If you wrote out all the statistics, you would go, ‘Well, this is doomed.’ But we’ve been together a year, and if it was just a year, it would’ve been worth it. I’ve had the best time.”
