Beyoncé hopped online to set the record straight for her new album, “Act II Cowboy Carter.” She wanted to clarify that although the album has some country vibes, it’s not a full-on country album.
She claims she’s just taking inspiration from the genre and putting her unique spin on it. She started by giving a big shoutout to her amazing BeyHive for taking her singles “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” straight to the top of the charts.
Beyoncé Speaks on How Not Everyone Has Openly Embraced Her Crossover
Beyoncé noted that not everyone fully supports her crossing over into different genres. However, she said she hopes that one day, an artist’s race won’t be a determining factor in the genre of their art. She’s all about breaking down barriers and letting the music speak for itself, regardless of who’s making it.
“Today marks the 10-day countdown until the release of ‘Act ii,'” she said. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of the supporters of ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM’ and ’16 CARRIAGES.'” The star continued, “I feel honored to be the first Black woman with the number one single on the Hot Country Songs chart.”
“That would not have happened without the outpouring of support from every one of you,” she added. “I hope that years from now, the mention of an artist’s race, as it relates to releasing genres of music, will be irrelevant.”
