Ben Affleck has changed his looks following his divorce from Jennifer Lopez. The actor and filmmaker was seen arriving at his Los Angeles office on Friday, October 4, sporting a dark brown beard. For some reason, Affleck has decided to ditch his popular salt-and-pepper beard look. Could the divorce have played a role in this decision?
Ben Affleck’s new look could be a sign that he has moved on after he cut ties with J.Lo. It was Jennifer Lopez who made the move by filing for divorce on August 20, 2024. She made the filing without any help from lawyers on a day that was supposed to be their second wedding anniversary. She however listed April 26 as the date of separation.
Many commentators have wondered why the actress chose her wedding anniversary to apply for the termination of her marriage. Sources have disclosed that Jennifer Lopez purposely did so to spite Ben Affleck.
“She waited until the two-year anniversary because she wanted to sting. But it did not sting him. He’s been done for a long time and deep down she knows this. He let her have this so that she wouldn’t look like the villain,” the insider revealed.

Ben Affleck doesn’t seem to have been shaken by the divorce when he pulled up at his office. The 52-year-old actor appeared in a dark suit and had on his face, a pair of aviator sunglasses. He also held his iced coffee which has been his well-known favorite for some time now.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been in an on-and-off relationship for over two decades. The pair first met in 2002 while they were working on the movie “Gigli.” At the time, Lopez was married to Cris Judd, her second husband. After divorcing Judd in 2003, Lopez and Affleck began a romantic relationship.
They got engaged in November 2002 with the singer breaking the news in an interview. She also described Affleck as “brilliantly smart… Charming. Affectionate,” adding that “I just admire him in every way.” Thereafter, they fixed their wedding for September 2003.
However, the intending couple shocked their fans on September 10 of that same year when they announced a postponement of the wedding, which was only three days away. They pointed to the intense media coverage as the reason for holding off the D-Day.
“When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ at three different locations, we realized that something was awry,” they said in a joint statement. “We felt what should have been a joyful and sacred day could be spoiled for us, our families, and our friends,” they also explained.
However, fans were greeted with even more shocking news in January 2004 when the pair announced the wedding cancellation and their split. In a later interview, Lopez maintained that there was still “genuine love” between them after they went their separate ways.
Jennifer Lopez and Affleck Came Back Together in 2021
The two entertainers got back together more than ten years later, in 2021. People spotted them having a good time together in several locations, including at a resort in Montana’s Big Sky area, where Affleck owned a home. They also walked the red carpet together at the Venice Film Festival in September 2021.
In April 2022, the pair shocked the entertainment world when they announced their second engagement. J.Lo made the announcement just after she was photographed with a big engagement ring on her finger. Shortly after, on July 16, 2022, she and Affleck tied the knot.
On July 17, she disclosed via her newsletter that she and Affleck had wedded the day before in Las Vegas. On August 20, the former couple held a second wedding ceremony, this time a party with their family and friends in Georgia. The event attracted Hollywood big names such as Matt Damon and Kevin Smith.
