USA Today has proudly announced the inclusion of five remarkable women in its prestigious annual Women of the Year list. While every honoree is undeniably deserving, two manes, Aly Raisman and Paulina Porizkova, captivated attention.
These women, esteemed former SI Swimsuit models, have earned this prestigious recognition for their outstanding contributions to making a positive impact. Expressing their gratitude for the recognition, Raisman and Porizkova posted on their respective Instagram accounts.
In a message, Raisman said, “Can’t believe I’m one of the @usatoday WOMEN OF THE YEAR. Thank you so much for this incredible honor. I am in awe of the honorees recognized for their hard work and passion.”
She continued, “Thank you to all of you who do the amazing and incredible work every single day. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and helped me. This takes a village, and I am so grateful.” On the other hand, Porizkova expressed, “I’ll stomp my feet and shout and make waves.”

She continued, “For myself and for all the incredible women coming into their fab fifties and sexy sixties and beyond. But also for the younger generations. Look at those old broads! Aren’t they confident? Isn’t being one of them – one day – something to look forward to?”
She further stated, “Thank you so much, @usatoday and @gannettco, for the honor, mine and all the other amazing women you selected! Keep the spotlight on us. We deserve it!” The selection of Aly Raisman and Paulina Porizkova is no surprise. Both are undeniably the most inspiring women for the recognition.
Also, there is this confidence that they will continue to be sources of inspiration, making impactful contributions in their respective fields. Raisman has won 6 medals at the Olympic Games (three gold, two silver, and one bronze) and 4 World Championship medals.
Moreover, she has 8 Pacific Rim Championships medals, three gold medals, and five silver medals. By being vocal about her experience of sexual assault by the former USA gymnastics doctor, Raisman now inspires millions of girls and women. Her inspiration centers around standing their ground against such a heinous crime.

Aside from Raisman, the team consisted of Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Kyla Ross, and Jordyn Wieber. Notably, this team became only the second-ever USA team in the event to clinch a gold medal at the Olympics.
Besides, it was also the nation’s first gold medal on international soil. Overall, Raisman contributed to the team’s total of 183.596, bagging 14.933 on the balance beam and 15.300 in the floor exercise. Moreover, she led the US women’s gymnastics team at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
