Michael Bolton is fine. Despite indications to the contrary, the 71-year-old singer and songwriter has told his fans to worry no more. Friends and well-wishers of the multiple award-winning musician were thrown into confusion and worry after a disturbing report about him surfaced online.
Some of his fans raised the alarm after they sighted some police cars in the singer’s Connecticut residence. One X (formerly Twitter) user posted the news on the social media platform. “Something with several police cars is happening at Michael Bolton’s house here in Westport, CT. I hope he is alright,” the Tuesday, August 13 post read.
Michael Bolton Says No Cause for Concern
Thankfully, just before the panic spread, the singer spoke out and calmed everyone. Via his personal X account, Michael Bolton responded to the X user’s post. “All is good!! Just prepping for a small landscape project,” he wrote.
He also attached a grinning emoji to the message and some words of gratitude, “Thanks for checking.” Michael Bolton hasn’t been very busy this year compared to 2023, when he celebrated 50 years in the music industry.
In July 2023, he released a new album, “Spark of Light.” This was his first new album of original songs in 14 years and a tremendous source of excitement for his fans. His last album of original songs was “One World One Love,” which he released in 2009.
He revealed that work for the “Spark of Light” album first began during the COVID-19 era. He further stated that he desired to provide some relief in the pandemic which spurred him to embark on the project.
“I felt a responsibility to help people feel a spark in their lives. Music is very powerful that way,” he stated. “We’re all so humanly connected; we’re so in need of some light,” he continued. “That became the working theme every day: ‘How do we…make other people feel better?’” he added.
Afterward, he released a holiday album, “Christmas Time,” to add more life to the end of the year. The song featured a number of covers he did for some of his iconic holiday songs, such as “Winter Wonderland,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” and “Let it Snow.”
The singer was also featured in the movie “The Masked Singer” and performed in the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade in December. He treated the audience to his iconic holiday track, Joy to the World.

Michael Bolton’s January Announcement
The reason for Michael Bolton’s slow 2024 isn’t a secret. In January 2024, he revealed his brain cancer diagnosis to the public and that he is recovering from surgery. In a Facebook post, the multiple Grammy Award winner announced that doctors uncovered a tumor in his brain just before the 2023 holidays.
“I want to start by wishing everyone a very happy and healthy new year!” the post began. He stated that 2023 “presented me with some unexpected challenges.
“Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery,” he disclosed. “Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success. I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family,” he added.
The singer also disclosed that he “will be devoting my time and energy to my recovery.” Furthermore, he announced that he won’t be doing any touring for a while. Apparently, the decision isn’t an easy one for him.
“It’s always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon,” he assured.
Expectedly, his announcement drew thousands of well wishes from social media users. Michael Bolton had responded in advance when he stated in the post, “I’m keeping your positive messages in my heart, and I’ll give you more updates as soon as I can. Much love always, MB.”
Michael Bolton on How Family Life Has Been Helping
On March 31, Michael Bolton posted a message of reassurance on his Instagram account. He shared a photo of a screenshot of text that stated he was “healing well and doing better every day.” According to Bolton, it’s all thanks to the fulfilling companionship from his family.
Michael Bolton’s three daughters, Isa, Holly, and Taryn, are the result of his marriage to his ex-wife, Maureen McGuire. They tied the knot in 1975 and remained married until 1990. The marriage also produced six grandchildren.
He also shared a bit about post-surgery family life. “I’ve been enjoying the company of my daughters and grandkids during this time at home and practicing on my putting green whenever it’s not raining!” he explained.
“Thank you all so much for all the kind messages, and I hope to see you very soon!!” he added. Asides chilling with family members, Bolton isn’t totally idle. So, don’t be surprised if you see police cars parked outside his residence.
