Chick-fil-A’s beloved banana pudding milkshake is making a comeback for a limited time on Monday, August 26. The fruit-forward item has not been on the fast-food brand’s menu for the past 13 years, and many look forward to it.
The frozen treat is made with natural banana vanilla ice cream and vanilla wafer cookies. It is then topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It is definitely a delicious addition, albeit for a short time, but there’s more good news.
The popular chain is throwing that banana flavor into more items than the shake. A new banana frosted coffee combines the same elements of the milkshake (ice cream, banana, and wafer cookies) plus cold brew coffee. It differs from the milkshake in that the new banana beverage has no whipped cream or a cherry on top.
Another Item Returning to the Chick-fil-A Menu
In addition to the banana pudding milkshake and the banana frosted coffee, Chick-fil-A has announced another item returning to its menus in the coming days. The item in question is the honey pepper pimento chicken sandwich, which has only been off the menu for one year.

When it was available in 2023, it was the most-ordered limited-time item, and now it is back with a twist. Customers now get to choose between original chicken and spicy chicken filet flavors.
Whichever filet flavor they choose, the sandwich is topped with honey, pimento cheese, and pickled jalapeños and served on a toasted bun.
Chick-fil-A Rolled Out Two Beloved Fall Items This August
On August 12, Chick-fil-A introduced two fall items: the pumpkin spice cake doughnut and the pumpkin spice latte. The beloved doughnut comes in an old-fashioned style and glazed. It can be purchased individually and in a dozen-pack at bakery locations or in six-packs at select grocery stores nationwide.
Pumpkin spice lattes can be served hot, iced, or frozen with whipped cream on top. This fall, Krispy Kreme will offer even more pumpkin goodies. “It’s August, and we’re all ready for pumpkin spice, somehow. So, we’re bringing back the classics you’re craving,” Krispy Kreme’s global chief brand officer, Dave Skena, said.
“Our fans want their Krispy Kreme Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut and Latte right now, and we’re here for it. Stay tuned, though; we’re not done spicing up the season.”
What Does Fil-A Stand for in Chick-fil-A?
According to the brand’s website, the name “Chick-fil-A” is a fun play on words and a promise. The capital ‘A’ reportedly stands for Grade A top quality, a mandate that dictates everything that goes down in the establishment.
The chain’s founder, S. Truett Cathy, named his restaurants after his famous signature Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich. “Chick” was to represent the juicy chicken the outlets served, and “fil-A” was a play on the word “filet,” with a slight twist. He replaced “et” with “A” to showcase the “Grade-A” quality of the chicken.

Chick-fil-A has very high standards regarding the chickens used in its restaurants and how they are prepared.
It uses natural, whole chicken breasts that are not separated or ground—a stark difference from other fast-food restaurants whose chicken products combine multiple sections of the chicken ground. Each piece of the Chick-fil-A chicken is hand-cut before being marinated and breaded.
