Earlier this summer, Donald Trump’s campaign team revealed that seven people were being considered as potential running mates. According to new reports, that figure has been whittled down, leaving only three contenders.
They include North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Senator J.D. Vance, and Senator Marco Rubio. As June ended, Trump revealed that he had made his decision. But he also boasted that he was the only one who knew who it would be at the time.
Sources have confirmed that Burgum, Vance, and Rubio are indeed the three most likely candidates. However, Rubio seems to be the least likely candidate. According to reports, there are doubts about his ability to shoulder the role well.
There is also the issue of Rubio and Trump being Florida residents, which could raise issues with the ‘inhabitant clause’ in the 12th Amendment. Trump has teased the revelation of who will finally be his VP but has not made any concrete announcement.

Weeks ago, he told reporters at his rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that whoever it would be would attend the CNN debate. But all everyone has are speculations. According to the former president, he has settled on a candidate, but only in his mind. It is mere months before the election, and who it is doesn’t even know themselves yet.
The revelation came shortly before Trump debated Biden in Atlanta, Georgia — the first presidential debate in the 2024 general election race. The debate came up one month after Trump’s conviction of 34 felony charges linked to the hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.
The list of potential running mates for Trump initially included seven members but now contains only three. Trump has praised all of them, claiming they are good options. But he has also downplayed the effect of the running mate role on the upcoming election.
All eyes are on Trump, and people are curious about who he will pick. He teased a revelation would happen during the debate, but it has come and gone, and speculations remain. The debate, on the other hand, was a proper disaster.

Trump and Biden attacked each other with false statements and exaggerations. It also revealed Biden’s poor mental acuity, casting further doubt on his ability to run for a second term. After the debate, Trump headed to Virginia for a rally Friday outside of Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
Meanwhile, Biden went directly to North Carolina for a rally, and Vice President Kamala Harris will head to Nevada for an event to mobilize Latino voters. North Carolina and Nevada are battleground states Biden needs to dominate to win reelection.
