On Tuesday, April 9, viewers were moved by a revealing clip from a recent “The Tamron Hall Show” episode published on YouTube. There, Eva Marcille, gracing the stage as a special guest, addressed comments about her recent weight loss.
She said, “I went through a divorce last year. Anyone who’s ever gone through a divorce knows that divorce is hard — it’s like the stomach flu. Like, you will be skinny afterward. You drop a 200-pound person, and you’re gonna drop at least 30 pounds.”
She further clarified that her transformation wasn’t because of deliberate efforts. Instead, it was a natural consequence of experiencing the thick and thinness of life. Marcille noted that she was also depressed. She shared, “And I found myself depressed, um, before my divorce, through my divorce — trying just to navigate and rediscover: who am I?”
She continued, “I’m not the wife anymore. I’m not someone’s someone. I’m someone’s mom, but if I took the mom away. If I took ‘Top Model’ away, like, who is Eva? Who am I? And making sure I prioritize knowing that character and building that character.”

Before concluding, Marcille noted that despite battling hurtful words and social media commentary, she would remain “positive” and carve out her path forward.

Amidst Marcille’s revelations, an outpouring of support flooded social media platforms. In a comment section, users rallied behind her, acknowledging the toll of depression on weight loss and praising her beauty. One Instagram user, @c.ushhhh, wrote, “People don’t like to be reminded of weight loss like some people don’t like to be reminded of weight gain! Y’all lack empathy!!”
Another user, @intel_gent, wrote, “Depression will tear your weight up. Gaining or losing. Sadness ain’t no joke. Appetite be all out of whack.” @urbandekayy, another Instagram user, added, “Still one of the most beautiful women in the world though.”
Another Instagram user added, “I’m tryna listen, but I’m honestly kinda stuck on the fact that Eva’s face is crazy beautiful. Almost unreal. Like, look at her face.” Others emphasized the need for people to be kind and lead their hearts. In Marcille’s case, no one knew about the silent battles she had been fighting.

According to a previous report, Eva Marcille filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Michael Sterling, on March 23, 2023. The document revealed Marcille’s belief that their union was “irretrievably broken” and that there was no chance of reconciliation. At the time, the duo had been married for five years.
Responding to the news, Sterling shared a statement noting that he wasn’t going to “lose” his wife, according to a report. In another statement to JasmineBrand, he said, “I am not going to lose my wife. I am going to fight for her with every fiber of my being. I love her, and I plan to show her how much I love her. And our love is strong enough to get to the other side.”
Michael Sterling’s Legal Response Amidst Divorce Proceedings
Despite Michael Sterling’s initial view that he would fight for his marriage to Eva Marcille, some changes in April painted a different picture. According to sources, Sterling hired a divorce lawyer, Kristal Holmes.
A statement by Holmes on behalf of Sterling said, “Michael Sterling’s focus, attention, and priority remains on his family and saving his marriage to his wife, Eva Sterling. As an experienced lawyer, however, Michael understands the legal requirement that he is obligated to respond to the divorce petition in a court of law.”
Sadly, despite Sterling’s hope for reconciliation, the reality of their situation became pronounced as the duo reportedly finalized their divorce in August 2023.
