Simon Guobadia is a Nigerian entrepreneur, philanthropist, and executive producer, but he is most famous as Porsha Williams’ second husband. The 59-year-old burst onto the Real Housewives of Atlanta scene when he was first married to one of Porsha’s friends, Falynn Guobadia. However, he soon moved on to Williams.
The estranged couple met while Guobadia and his ex-wife, former RHOA star Falynn Guobadia, were together. Guobadia and Falynn starred in the RHOA limited series spin-off “Porsha’s Family Matters.” Then, one thing led to the other, and he and Porsha Williams started dating.
After one month of dating, they announced their engagement in May 2021 and had a traditional Nigerian wedding ceremony on November 25, 2022. Afterward, they had an American wedding ceremony. However, things went south, and Williams filed for divorce from Simon Guobadia in February 2024 after 15 months of marriage.
Who Is Simon Guobadia?
Simon Guobadia was born on June 2, 1964, in Nigeria. According to reports, he has seven younger siblings and immigrated to the United States in 1982. In September 2021, the Nigerian entrepreneur took Williams to his home country. The two had a lot of fun and shared videos and photos of the trip on Instagram.

How Many Children Does Guobadia Have?
Guobadia has five children from previous relationships: Quentin, Nicole, Christian, Benjamin, and Ximena. In May 2022, he shared a picture on Instagram of himself posing with Williams and three of his kids celebrating their graduation from the academy. He wrote, “All graduated with Honors and elevated to various grade levels.”
What Does Simon Guobadia Do?
According to reports, Simon Guobadia is an entrepreneur and businessman. The business mogul made his money as the founder of Simon & Company, now called Simcol Petroleum Limited Company.
His company, which he reportedly founded in 2007, supplies refined fuels in the southeast United States. Before starting his own business, the father of five and husband to none was a CPA (certified public Accountant). However, there have been speculations regarding how he makes his money.
He Has a Restaurant
In addition to his petroleum company, Guobadia has invested in many Atlanta-area restaurants. These include The Republic, DAS BBQ II, and American Cut Steakhouse, an LDV Hospitality subsidiary.
In February 2022, he said, “I consider food to be a work of art. While it nourishes our bodies, it also serves as a source of inspiration and connection. Besides, I wanted to help bring that sense of creativity and community through food to my city.”

The Accusations
RHOA fans are getting to know Simon Guobadia on a deeper level. However, not everyone likes what they’re hearing. According to court documents, the businessman was allegedly denied American citizenship. Reports suggest the visa denial came after authorities learned that he was a Nigerian scammer with multiple convictions for credit card fraud and identity theft.
Guobadia reportedly came to the US as a Nigerian businessman on a six-month visa in 1982. However, he returned to Nigeria in 1985, overstaying the visa. After marrying his first wife, Karron English, an American citizen, he applied for “Adjustment of Status” in 1985.
Unfortunately, the government denied him citizenship because it believed the marriage to be a sham after his ex reportedly said they lived together. In 1996, Guobadia again returned to the United States on a new six-month visa.
However, he once again failed to leave before it expired. A fan asked, “Why did the US Government give him so many visas? Wasn’t he red-flagged?” Besides overstaying his visas, Guobadia was also arrested in 1987 for felony and credit card fraud.

“I can’t help but feel Guobadia may have married Williams in hopes of solidifying his anchoring in America,” a user commented. “Even though the couple does not have children together, it feels like he could have been hoping Willam’s star power would have held some weight with immigration.”

The news of Simon Guobadia and Porsha Willlam’s divorce follows the recent exciting announcement that she’s returning to RHOA for the Bravo series’ forthcoming 16th season.
