Where are my movie lovers? I’ve got good news for you! The first trailer for “A Quiet Place: Day One” is out! What’s more, Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn are the film leads. This movie marks the third in the thrilling “Quiet Place” horror series, which kicked off in 2018.
The original movie starred Hollywood power couple, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. Notably, “A Quiet Place: Day One” is a prequel to its two predecessors, written and directed by John Krasinski. Moving away from Krasinski’s hand, the prequel is also written and directed by Michael Sarnoski.
A team including Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, and Krasinski handled the production. In the 2021 theatrical release of “A Quiet Place II,” Emily Blunt starred alongside Cillian Murphy. Thanks to Paramount Pictures, the trailer for “A Quiet Place: Day One” dropped on February 7, 2024.
The trailer begins by revisiting scenes from the original two films, giving the audience a familiar tension. As the screen gets dark, the subtitle “Day One” emerges. The trailer shows aliens crash-land in the bustling chaos of New York City, relying on the ability to track noise. Nyong’o’s character navigates a crowded sidewalk with her cat when havoc comes from above.
Hiding beneath a car with another survivor, she witnesses his abduction, narrowly avoiding being crushed by the vehicle. Title cards declare, “This summer, discover why our world went quiet.” Later scenes show Nyong’o covered in ash, coughing.
Another survivor responds quickly, silencing her as they face the looming threat of the noise-tracking aliens. In an interview with EW, Nyong’o described the movie, saying, “We have these disparate individuals who collide into each other’s lives, and it is at a very pivotal time for the world..”
She continued, “How do they negotiate survival together? What we get is really interesting — and even surprising — chemistry in the characters that met each other along the way.” Your eagerly anticipated “A Quiet Place: Day One” will hit your screen on Friday, June 28, 2024, according to the trailer’s YouTube description.
