The Biden Administration recently accused Texas of causing the drowning deaths of three illegal migrants near the border. However, the accusation fell apart after further investigation. Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) has accused the Biden Administration of dishonesty, stating they are “lying through its teeth.”
His accusation follows reports of a migrant woman and her two children losing their lives while crossing the Rio Grande. Initially, the Biden Administration attributed the deaths to the Texas Military Department (TMD), alleging that they hindered Border Patrol agents from rescuing them.
However, the TMD countered these claims, stating that Mexican authorities were already in the process of recovering the bodies when the Border Patrol requested access to the park. Also, in its filing with the Supreme Court, Texas challenged claims that they denied Border Patrol agents access.
The state alleged that the Border Patrol reduced its presence since the summer of 2023. Hence, the state said it reallocated its resources and workforce to the park. However, Representative Gimenez wasn’t having it. He stated that the White House’s initial response confirmed what he had always believed about Biden’s administration.

“And so now they are saying that an hour after this woman and, I guess, two kids, unfortunately, drowned,” Gimenez said, airing his doubts. “We were informed by the Mexican authorities (that) somehow, the Department of Homeland Security was going to save them.”
“Again, this is another example of the Biden Administration lying through its teeth,” Gimenez continued. “That is all they do all the time.” Furthermore, the Florida congressman criticized recent comments from Representative Jerry Nadler (D-NY), who said vegetables world “rot” without illegal immigrants to pick them.
Gimenez referred to the comment as “kind of elitist.” Also, he said if there is a labor shortage in the county, immigrants should come through legal channels only. “That is really the whole crux of the matter,” Gimenez asserted.

“It must be legal immigration, and what the Biden Administration is permitting is massive illegal immigration.” To further understand his perspective, Giminez stated in December 2023 that he believes the Biden Administration’s tolerance of “massive illegal immigration” is deliberate.
With a firm conviction, he stated, “This is not because they are incompetent. They want this to happen. You cannot be this dumb.” Gimenez continued, saying, “We know what we need to do; they just refuse to do it.” Despite not providing a specific rationale, he stood his ground that the administration’s immigration approach is intentional.
Henry Cuellar, the leading Democrat on the House Appropriations Committee’s homeland security, stated that no immediate information about the victims is available. This information includes the victims’ nationalities, ages, or ages. Moreover, the Mexican government has not given any public statements on the matter.
