Joe Biden Sarcastically Congratulates Trump Over Golf Award
President Joe Biden threw a playful jab at Donald Trump on Sunday, March 24, 2024p. He trolled Trump, who announced winning golf awards at his golf course.
“Congratulations, Donald. Quite the accomplishment,” Biden wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Biden also attached a screenshot of Trump’s post earlier in the night on Truth Social. As expected, Biden’s sarcastic comment sent the internet into a frenzy, and many political experts had much to say.

Trump’s Accomplishment Speech on Truth Social
In his post, Trump said he got the trophies over talent in his post field. “It is my great honor to be at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach tonight, AWARDS NIGHT, to receive THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY & THE SENIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY. I WON BOTH!” Trump wrote in the Truth Social post.
“A large and golfing talented membership, a GREAT and difficult course, made the play very exciting. The qualifying and match play was amazing. A large and distinguished group will be there tonight. Very exciting, thank you!!!” Trump continued.
Reactions to Trump’s Golf Awards on Social Media
Tim O’Brien, a senior executive at Bloomberg Opinion, responded to Biden’s comeback. He said, “Biden’s being too kind by not pointing out that Trump cheats at golf all the time.” Like Biden’s comment, O’Brien’s comment also sparked controversy.
Social media users on X referenced sports writer Rick Reilly’s 2019 book “Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump.” One user tweeted a video of Reilly in an interview recounting how Trump “tried to cheat” the legendary golfer Tiger Woods. “Tiger freaking Woods,” said Reilly.
He described how Trump “chokes one,” sending his ball into the water with a swing, and then “says to his partner, throw me another one, they didn’t see,” Reilly recalled. The writer also recounted how Trump would “tell people that he won club championships that he didn’t even play in.”
He also noted that the former President claimed to have won at least six or seven tournaments where “he was the only guy playing in the tournament.”
President Joe Biden Took a Shot at His Predecessor’s Massive Fraud Penalty
Biden has been criticized for not going after Trump more aggressively during the campaign. Lately, however, he has been stepping it up and playfully teasing Trump. The President commented on Trump’s huge fraud penalty after his lawyers admitted they couldn’t get a bond to appeal the ruling.
“Just the other day, a defeated-looking man came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President, I have crushing debt, and I’m completely wiped out,’ Biden said at a fundraiser, according to HuffPost. “And I had to look at him and say, ‘Donald, I’m sorry. I can’t help you.”

The Trump Campaign Shot Back at Biden
Joe Biden and Donald Trump recently clinched their parties’ respective nominations and have set their sights on the general election this November. The campaigns have revved up in recent weeks as they prepare for their projected rematch.
According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s national polling average, Trump is barely ahead of Bioneen by one percentage point. The Trump campaign shot back at Biden in a statement, criticizing his physical capabilities.
“Crooked Joe Biden is jealous because anything he does physically is an embarrassment, whether it is falling off his bike, whiffing on golf balls, or just generally falling on his ass in front of the world,” Trump’s spokesperson said.
